fender and gibson know what they are doing. they market well with decent products and makes tons of $. imo less $ to be made making musicman grade guitars. i have lots of sweet guitars, but i have to say my musicman plays flawless and is arguably the best guitar i've ever played

Vito suffered a severe fretting-hand RSI from practicing so much. That's sad because he told stories with his guitar. A true master of melodic development. Reb's fusion demo is amazing. I remember going to his guitar clinic in 1991 and he started off playing this really cool instrumental which ended up being "Black Magic." The first time I became aware of Dann Huff was when I saw he played the solo on Clint Black's "Summer's Comin'." What a versatile player. My favorite Kee Marcello solo is "Let The Good Times Rock." So melodic and such a fluid picking technique. And Andy Timmons, wow, what a time feel. He played some great guitar parts on Kip Winger's solo albums.

You should try and get one of the new Cory Wong signature Stingray II from Music Man. I’d love to see that be put through it’s paces and be recorded nicely. All the NAMM demos video reviews have awful sound quality from having to record on the show floor.

The biggest reason why I myself have never own an Ibanez, its not because of the 80's colors,or the hardware, or how it looks, nor the quality. Its because I "personally"cant stand those sissy thin wizard necks. With the New 2025 Ibanez AZ24SF1 models that just came out, at less than $600 with medium jumbo steel frets, roasted maple neck, and a normal "C" shape neck (NON-Wizard) I can honestly see myself gigging with it no issues at all.. in fact I place and order with Sweetwater so I should have it within a week or so depending on weather travels per Fed Ex.

The only reason to buy a Floyd Rose/Locking Nut guitar is for the D-Tuna. I know there are ways to keep a traditional trem in tune when going into drop-d, but Ed's device is just so slick and easy.

But, it does it's one trick probably better than any other guitar out there...slide guitar... fat mids and upper fret access are the best out there. Derek Trucks ain't wrong! Wow! That Les Paul tuning fix is pure genious! 😍 The problem with their headstocks is that apart from the break angle being to large for the D and G string to the pegs sideways also the angle downwards to the head is too agressive. This compenastes it a bit. I will definitely try that out with my Les Paul. 👍

may I (trained sports scientist) comment on the "talent myth" by comparing guitar playing, or rather: exercising on guitar, with training race-bike cycling? Successful cycling needs a combination of stamina, power, coordination, plus cognitive skills, "reading the race = understanding what's going on tactically speaking" (the latter one I'll exclude here). stamina is easy to get better at, provided you know how training work AND you follow the plan. Anyone whose body is healthy can achieve enough of it to run ten miles. Best follow the advice of a seasoned runner (I did, in six weeks I got from zero kilometers to ten, ca 6mls w/o getting dog-tired). power is a more complex topic, especially in endurance sports: your muscle systems need to be able to withstand strenuous work against resistance for elongated periods of time. Here is the kicker: if you were born with a majority of 'strong muscle fibers' that is a jump start. Long distant runners are built by training, for sprinting you must have been born with 60 or more % of hard & fast contracting muscles (we sport scientists have technical terms for all of this). Choose your parents well 😮😅! KISS: For a fast 150mls leg of tour de france/ race across America you have to put in 30.000mls of bike training per year. In all kinds of weather. Train all through winter to be fit in spring. Coordination: obviously when playing any musical instrument. Cyclist can stand still on the bike w/o feet touching the ground for hours. Or jump over obstacles on the road, or prevent falls etc. Do tricky bike things to train. cognitive skills: @Robert Baker: learn all the scales, major and minor, all chords, another myth? Necessity?? After my little sketchy introduction to sports sciences, it should go without saying: in sports there is no success w/o brains. Yours or your trainer's 😅😊 Music scientist say, start early, do 10.000 hrs of practice before the age of 14 if you want to solo nicely. It is my 24.466th day upon the earth, just for comparison. 10.000 days = 27.4 yrs. Do the math, better start right now 😅! Love ❤ your vid, Robert! Will return. Thomas, sincerely from overseas in EU & responsible for all spelling mistakes 😊

To silence the spring rattle, the so called atonal “ free reverb tank”, generously apply Vaseline to every parts of every spring in the trem cavity. Works really well, inexpensive and last forever…All my trem guitars received that treatment…
