Robert, for myself and a few others in here we remember when this stuff first came out. For guys such as yourself and other "younger" players, you guys are looking back on this stuff as "that old classic stuff" much the same as we did for guys like Hendrix and Page but more than even those guys, for guys my age the "old" guys were ohh, like the Ventures lol. We had the Chuck Berry's, the early Stones and Beatles. The electric rock guitar really didn't come into it's own until about 1977-78 when all the different effects and techniques really began to blossom. By the time the 80's started in, about 1983 I guess it was with bands like Def Leppard and then the Dokkens and such came out the guitar was really developing into those cool techniques you are showing here. The earlier stuff was still pretty heavy laid with blues stuff, AC/DC, KISS, Southern Rock groups etc, were all using the Chuck Berry staples with a bit more of an edge to them. I remember when I first heard Dokken, well saw them lol, on MTV and yeah I had seen EVH but there was something "different" going on with Dokken and well to be honest man it was about this time I got married and started raising a family, I was married in 1982 at the ripe old age of 17!! So a lot of the names of the bands I don't know or even the names of the guitarists lol. Can you maybe work this song into one of your next "a look back at the 80's"? I think it was by the band XYZ and it's called "Inside Out" , Man that opening riff is KILLER!!

Question - I think I heard you say that your "crackle-finish" Charvel Predator is an '89' if I'm not mistaken. They made em in 3 colors that year, black (which I had at one time, 24 frets too) the dark blood red, & the red & black crackle finish you are just lucky enough to have! My question besides the year, if I'm lucky enough to have you read all this! Has to do with the Charvel logo. Both '89's I had - had (have) what people call the "toothpaste logo" or marshmallow, (take your pick) and yours has the guitar shaped logo they have carried on with to this day. Could it be that's a replacement neck on your's? Kind Regards; Your Ohio homie - V⚡

Robert have you (or anyone here) ever come across this problem: Whenever I use the trem on my Charvel DK 24 my strings come back sharp. I've tried all the standard fixes like widening the groove at the nut. lubing the saddles, etc. and nothing. I'm having a similar problem on my Kramer Baretta Vintage but to a lesser extent. Any advice on something else that could potentially fix this? Thanks in advance for any wise words

do you want millions of views? let me tell you what we want. 100's or do by 20 lol riffs of 80's rock songs from Motley to kiss and all in between you know them all. play just the main parts and put the freaken tabs on screen so we can actual learn chords etc... in a song that we know in a context that's way more fun. that way we learn and it's fast and easy. instead of a bunch of guitar theory and put your finger here and put that finguer there, this is in a/b sharp 13 and 6th notes and a half inteval going to the what the heck ever omg THAT would be best. there are not enough youtubers doing that on youtube.
