I really like this! Thank you I need to build a couple of these this week. I know it’s November but I didn’t get my tree cut down until recently. And nothing has been split yet.

Just built this! Great video. One small thing, I needed a 7th board to cut smaller pieces from.
@TKCL6 күн бұрын
Exactly, I miss spoke by saying 6 boards. Thus the reason I typed 7 each or 14 boards total (for 2) at the bottom of the screen during the video. I was doing my best to let others know to get 7 boards. Hope it works well for you.

Have you thought about putting a soft edge on the front side of that tin, as low as it is? Maybe some pipe insulation. Might save somebody from having a bad day.
@TKCLАй бұрын
I have rubber edging for it.
@samuelschult985Ай бұрын
Andrew, a couple of solar powered with infrared capabilities cameras we'll camouflaged would not be a bad idea on that area 👍
@TKCLАй бұрын
I already have some down there with more planned.
@zeddgara1Ай бұрын
Those edges of the tin are sharp only a matter of time before someone starts bleeding, just score a 1x2 down the middle fill it with strong glue and mount it on that razor edge, or live dangerously with a partial scalping, either/or.
@TKCLАй бұрын
I have press on rubber for that edge.
@mommaoinnh2674Ай бұрын
For the rack with a roof, rain doesn’t fall straight down. I would add cuphooks along the top that line up with tarp holes, and cover the 4 sides with a tarp. Then the wood will remain dry.

@TKCLАй бұрын
Yes it will
@woodintheblood4104Ай бұрын
The only thing I would change to the roof is I would just stack a second 2x4 on one end to make the roof lean to shed water.
@TKCLАй бұрын
Water will run off either way as soon as it makes a small puddle.
@woodintheblood4104Ай бұрын
@@TKCL Until it won't and then there will be a small puddle left that will encourage rust even if the roof is made of a non rust material. No water. . . .no rust. ;-)

You do know that the tin you purchased will give a little, so if you double that center roof support it will give you 1-1/2” fall each way. Keep up the good work and nice river property.

Nice setup. Especially since I just moved from Bradenton, FL to North Carolina last summer. I would probably put some 1"x1" trim to mitigate the sharp edges, rather than bending them down.
