Great video! Focusing on popping you've lifted your body up was the biggest tip that improved my skating. It helped make all my tricks become more consistent and controlled

Another great explanation! I had period where I struggled to flick the board because I still had too much weight on it when I jumped, which and this clearly explains why

Excellent video and certainly the most scientific presentation. I feel this tip on keeping body weight off the board before you pop applies to so many other pop tricks, no just shuvits.

Great video. Idk if you've ever done them this way, but pop shovs can be executed much better with your shoulders being open almost completely towards the nose. With your eyes, you are looking the front bolts. Your front leg is also further back, at the middle of the board and toes pointed like your doing a flip. Back toes is in the middle of the tail as you are poping and shuving a bit harder. Shuv also has to be vectored towards the front not just to the side This way you jump straight up and the board doesn't go in front of you, it's stay centered below you. It's the nicest looking pop shuv, but a bit harder to do.

Thanks for your in-depth videos about these tricks. I am also using the "hop" technique for practicing the timing for finding that moment of lightness. Now, how about this video: "a scientific explanation why you still cannot commit to shove its and how to change that" ;-) Thats what I am really struggling with, regardless which trick.

getting over the fear huh? interesting. I wonder how I should explain it without saying "just commit" haha

Popping once I've lifted my body (and got my front foot out of the way) works beautifully with non-pop shuvs, and front pop shuvs for me. For for backside pop-shove-its, the "don't over extended your upper body" trick from the ollie video works better. For whatever reason, my bs pop-shuvs just don't really click like front shuvs.

Be really nice to see a goofy footed virtual and tutorial in person perspective in addition to the regular stance. I'm not so great at skating switch and learning tricks again so this is still useful information and the kind of pre jump float feeling is exactly when you should flick rather than scoop in my opinion for a pop shut it cuz you shove that shit LOL but seriously it'd be great to see it when I goofy footed perspective good job though

Literally learned to do kickflip consistant before getting my first shuv it's no cap. I guess everyone has his strength and weakness. The only time when the popshuv made '*click* for me was when I realised I didn't use my ankle to give the board a scoop.

And also rotate the board more than too less, you'll get less hurt

Actually, compare what you do when you jump up on a skateboard to what you do when you run with your hands and feet. Did you notice that when you jump up your front shoulder rotates in front of your body, because you have to get your back foot on the board, much like when you run with your hands and feet. If you do it on your hands and feet on same direction, it will be unstable and likely to fail.

I just need to get better at scooping with my back foot and turning the board rather than popping it up like an ollie. A lot of times my shove-its just go straight up like an ollie and get caught on my front foot.

try shifting your weight on the toe side then you don't really have to scoop your backfoot.
