My mom refuses to show me step by step how to make any type of Somla machu bc it’s my fave. It makes her happy when she comes to visit knowing I’ve been waiting for her to stock me back up with her yummies ♥️♥️. She always makes a huge pot of everything so that we can freeze it. The hubby loves her Kaw so she fills up the freezer with that for him.

I love watching your videos! I made her bar bar and kaw a while back and it was so simple and delicious. I usually don't cook because my mom and mom in law always cooks for us, but every once in a blue moon I cook here and there. My fiance went for seconds when I made the bar bar. Sorry quick silly question! In the other video similar to this sour soup (beef somlar kreung) your mom used fermented mud fish. Should we use it for this somlar too or is that unnecessary because we are using catfish already in this soup?

irie love If you buy the fish from the market, have them clean the inside and the outside with a scrubber. When its in pieces just soak the fish in vinegar and rub it down again. Then wash the vinegar away with water.
