When removing ball joints I was taught to take the castle nut all the way off, flip it over, and screw it back down until it was flush with the top of the threads. At that point you can hit it with a hammer, and you don't mess up any of the threads. Pretty much the same way you removed the wheel studs. This might be considered the caveman way of doing it, but it's quite effective, and much quicker.
@MJTAUTOMOTIVE5 жыл бұрын
Only do that if you're in a bind. Always hit the third arm or knuckle sharp with a heavy ballpein hammer. If you hit from the top there is a chance you could bend the shaft of the ball joint.

You also wanna hit the ball joint holder just a smidge oblique downwards. It helps a lot. Alternatively, so you don't create fatigue in the eyelet, get a tuning fork, they are cheap as cheap gets, and easily pop those joints out.

Is300 tension rods will give you more inside wheel clearence straight bolt on for a jzx100 but for a 90 you will need to fit is300 LCA aswell because it has bigger bolts for the tension rod. All straight bolt on. You could also get some extended LCAs for more clearence while your at it +25 is nice on a street jzx not too agressive.

1:09 OEM ball joints are designed to last 75-100k miles, MOOG replacements are designed to last 20-30k. If not they'd go out of business, its just like the Light Bulb Problem where they have to build in obsolescence since light bulbs can easily last 100 years.
