Great job on the video. First class. I have an '84 200es. Just revived it after sitting many years. Turned out to be the pulser coil that a Honda dealership told me was good. (Along with a carb clean) I hate to follow that up with a question, but here's a dumb one; The air/fuel mixture jet in the carburetor, what does it do, and how much does it effect the running of the engine? Thank you.
@Mrcbuilds3 жыл бұрын
Great question, the fuel mixture screw is on the bottom of the carb close to the intake, yes it is very important, as a rule, turn it clockwise until it bottoms out (careful, just snug, not tight) then turn it counter-clockwise about 1.75 turns to 2.25 turns. this should get you up and running, fine tune it while it is running, I use a very short jewelers Flathead screwdriver(clockwise restricts fuel causing a leaner mixture, counter-clockwise enriches the mixture causing a rich condition. Check your plug, listen to the engine, you want a tan plug (black to rich/white to lean). Turn it inward until the engine bogs, then (counting the turns) turn it out-ward until it bogs again, take the total turns and divide by 2 so if you turned it outward 1.50 turns from the first bog (inward) than the sweet spot would be halfway between the two bogs or .75 of a turn from either bogs. Thanks for watching and subscribing.
@williamolson37043 жыл бұрын
@@Mrcbuilds Thanks for the reply! I've just finished carbs etc on 4 different wheelers. The air/fuel adjustment has been different on each (number of turns out) so I just adjusted to what it was. They all run good except for one, but I know they may run better with adjustment. This one, is a Polaris Sportsman 90, my grandson's. It seems to be running lean on the low end. I bought a Chinese carb last year, and the float filled with fuel over the winter. All the gas drained out! So, I cleaned the original carb. One reason I may not have messed with it, it's kind of hard to get at, as you've mentioned. But, I need to check them all. Again, thanks much. How water tight should the differential and brake drum be?

First go to 3wheelerworld.com, download the manual, look in the troubleshooting section. Go back to the basic. Test light the black/red wire out of the stator down at the recoil. Make sure you have power coming out of the stator. Verify that power goes in the cdi box, then verify the blue/green wires going to the pulse generator run an ohm test on the pickup. Make sure it is in spec. Leave the cover off the pulse generator and spin the engine over slowly, make sure the rotor is spinning with the engine and is not slipping, you may have lost the little pin in the cam. Then check the ground green wire at the coil clean the frame where the green wire bolts to the coil and grounds the frame. Now disconnect both wires to the kill switch, you dont need them, when it starts you can pull the plug wire off the plug with plyers to kill it. That will tell you the kill switch is bad..I hope this helps, it's very hard to troubleshoot without seeing it or being there. Good luck
