Thank you! This explains things in a way I can understand! I had about three weeks of school to get my cdl and have been learning a lot on my own since. I’ve had some old timers helping with tips but nobody beside me in the truck to continue training me. Yesterday I had to park in a tight lot with a “convention” of drivers standing around watching and waiting. Add to that being older, under a year driving, and female you can’t image the pressure😅. It’s the worst feeling in the world. I wanted to tuck tail and run. I got backed in, unhooked, and took off! I’m sure they’ve had bets of how long I’d last but I’m not quitting.

I used your little tid-bit of logic you said "turn your wheel to the problem" helped me SO much during my parallel parking practice today. The teacher has me going in 17 different directions with his crazy flip flopping of his directions! Yesterday it was this way, today its that way he flip flops like a fish out of water! Its agravating! Ive got 3 weeks till the semester is over and I need to get this parallel parking down!

@emmanuelscott58043 жыл бұрын
Mr Burley I couldn't agree more. Just because an individual can drive from Egypt to Kalamazoo doesn't mean they are poised and mature and professional enough to teach humans a task that they're totally foreign to. It takes a calm and unique person to lead without getting out of character. I tell you if I ever see two particular past instructors in public I'm liable to smack the fire out of em. Hello Mr Collins, when you say turn the trailer to the left, do you mean a hard left (all the way to the left) or just give it a mid turn to the left? Thank you sir for your help
@CarHaulerQueen3 жыл бұрын
...also, I appreciate your teaching style. You are an awesome instructor
@Thisisebm3 жыл бұрын
In the situation on the video, a slight turn or until you begin to get the desired results....here's how you know when the trailer is beginning to do what you want it to do ... As you are looking in your mirror you will see the corner of the trailer began to bend and block your view when this began to happen the trailer is doing what you what it to do...allow it to happen, but be ready to counter steer..Once you can't see that means look at the other Side because it's moving over like you commanded it to do so slightly turn the opposite direction until you get the desired results... The trailer is under your command. If you turn the wheel hard it will bend fast, if you turn slowly it will bend slowly, but once it's doing what you what it to do be ready to counter steer....I have some more videos that might provide some more clarity on my channels... Or Cornell Collins EBM Facebook.
