Hi Scott. I tented at the Windsor Locks site last night. I searched on KZbin this evening for any videos about it and yours popped up, so it's good to share my February hike with you. I actually hiked from Turkey Hills Road, where you parked a couple of years ago and did it in that direction. Yesterday I parked just over the Massachusetts border at the Rising Corner Road trailhead and did the 5.4 mi southbound. Had similar views from the ridge much of the way. Although it wasn't very cold, only getting down to the mid 30s last night, the wind was roaring all night. Fortunately, this tent site is sufficiently downhill and protected from the actual wind itself. It was just real loud. And I'm not even going to mention the airplanes lol. I heard coyotes in the distance a couple of times last night, which adds to the ambience. I actually was planning last week to hike up somewhere along the Tunxis Trail but was warned by people that you can't just tent there without a permit in advance. Not that I didn't think I could get away with it but hey...

Great video brother. You’re right, CT needs more places like that.

Dope video! My lady and I are going to try and find this location if it still exists. Also, I used to manage a restaurant in Manchester, CT, you were definitely my beer rep. Cheers!

Clicked on it because I'm in California :) Need as much outdoor videos as I can get. I probably won't be getting out until the SoCal hammock group hang in October.

Very nice video. I've parked at the same spot and hiked that trail until I hit the next road and then hiked back. I've also gone to that road and parked and hiked further up the trail. I've been thinking of doing a quick winter overnight at that spot. Thanks for all the information. You have a very nice style for the videos - good commentary and music, nice tips, etc. I think I'll subscribe!
