Thanks Edgar. I’ll be replacing my motion sensor with a presence sensor. Thanks for the tip about zones too.

You’re welcome! The presence sensor automation in my bathroom has become one of my favorites. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Thank you for watching!

And what about the humidity in the bathroom? It won't damage the sensor at some point? I have 3 of them (FP2) but I’m afraid to put one in the bathroom!

Hi, that’s a great question! I’m not entirely sure. I’ve been using my FP2 for a few months now, and there’s been no damage so far. Aqara claims on their website that it can handle humidity up to 95%. I’ll be keeping an eye on this closely. Thanks!

Lovely automation! It wouldn't work for me though. My bathroom has a skylight and gets daylight all day long, so fixed times wouldn't work because it does not get dark at the exact same time every day. Or every season. So I use a Philips Hue motion sensor which is also a Light Sensor so I added the condition of turning the lights on, etc... ONLY when it's dark

Nicely done. I don't have any automation or conditions based on lighting, but I'll consider it in the future. Thank you for watching and for the idea. :)

Aqara FP2 also has a light sensor as per Amazon.

I use this automation for my home office and want to use it for our master bathroom but the problem I am having is the presence sensor can't tell if someone is in the shower. So it turns the lights off mid shower. UGH Any tips and how to get around this?

Yes, you need to put a water leak sensor in your shower

Hi, I was concerned I would have that issue myself, but having glass in the shower helps. Even if the glass fogs, the sensor can still detect movement in the shower and keeps my light on. It’s never failed.

Get a door sensor. If the door is closed, keep the lights on. If door is opened, then lights turn off.
