Marly, I love the way you explain how to knit things on your videos. I'm more of a crocheter than a knitter but your videos have inspired me to start knitting things too.

This is really great tutorial, thank you!! I altered it a little bit because I like the “braid like” smooth edge. So I did: First row: slip first stitch, Knit three, slip marker, Knit all to the last two, Increase, Purl. Second row: slip first stitch, Increase, Knit to the last two before marker, Decrease (knit two together), slip marker, Knit three, Purl. I love that this pattern is so easy to adjust!

Marley, thank you so much for your videos! I haven't really been knitting much lately, but watching your videos has me getting my needles back out and I am now working on this. I love simple and easy patterns that I don't have to think much about, and this is perfect. And your instructions make it so easy to follow! Thank you!

I want to tell you thank you from the bottom of my heart for your videos. I have started this shawl for my granddaughter. I have another I am doing for myself. I struggle with patterns. It's like reading music, lol. I still can't do those, either. But I can watch and do. So thank you.

Wow! I'm fairly new to knitting, but even I understood your instructions. I enjoyed your easy going manner so much so that I subscribed to your channel! I love this shawl and I'm thinking about giving it a try. There are only so many wash cloths I can knit without going a tad crazy. Lol. Cute stitch markers too! I think I'll watch that video next.

Hi Marley and Happy Thanksgiving, i love your bias shawl video thank you so so much for showing us how do do it, i was just wondering though on one side of the shawl it looks like you've done what looks like a chain selvedge edge and was wondering how you did it

Must agree with the prior post, it's beautiful, and you are a wonderful teacher. I'm curious as to how this pattern would look in a solid color? I do believe I'm go to do a sample section to see if it will give the desired effect. I am thinking about a yarn for evening wear.

Marly I love your videos . I think you are entertaining and personable. Your content is clear and easy to follow. My only complaint is I have a hard time finding the place to click on to get the pattern. I get so frustrated that I just give up. I wonder if this is a sneaky way to make sure I see all the ads. If this is not your intent please get a better web design. I watch your videos but hardly ever knit your designs. It makes me sad because I would like to participate in one of your knit alongs. They look like fun.

This was a great video, made this easy to do. I’m almost finished, my question is one end suppose to longer than the other? I used 3 skeins of yarn, i I added another one would that one end get longer like the beginning end?

Yes, it I’m understanding your question correctly

If I wanted to make it a garter stitch edge and the bias part to be stockinet would I simply alternate pearl stitches for every other row ( except for the four edge garter stitches)?
@wendelynyoung86097 жыл бұрын
Wow combo😊 garter st and bias 😍. No pics or schematics of the finished shape on the pattern. Saw the XX note in the pattern. Is the shape like the isosceles crocheted shawl? I have some size 2 yarn I have in mind to use while I impatiently wait for the new red heart yarn to make its appearance out here in ABQ
@MarlyBird7 жыл бұрын
+Wendelyn Young sorry about that. It's 84" wide and 18" depth. You will make it to the desired wingspan.

HI Marley mom and I are going to knit this shawl but I went to your web site but can't find the pattern. Ps I am not great on a computer
@Karanodom7 жыл бұрын
i have knitted several sweaters, cowls, etc. but i never use garter stitch. no matter how many tutorials i watch, i don't have enough hands to fix a dropped garter stitch. stockinette is easy.
@MarlyBird7 жыл бұрын
+Karan Odom the thing to remember when fixing garter stitch is this--one row the dropped stitch will be a purl, and on the next it will be knit. I teach more about this in the fixing mistakes video I did with my mom.

Can this be done in a wool blend yarn?
@kathytincler24467 жыл бұрын
This is just what I am looking for but....how can I make this a neckerchief/kerchief size? Sadly I'm still pretty much basically a beginner at 5 yrs knitting :(
@MarlyBird7 жыл бұрын
+Kathy Tincler you make the wingspan of the shawl as long as you wish if you were to use thinner yarn and followed the pattern you could make it more light weight.

Can you make this bias shawl with solid color yarn?
@MarlyBird6 жыл бұрын
Yes.
@eastlynburkholder35593 жыл бұрын
When you use a bias to knit, increasing on one side and decreasing on the other side, you create a different textured fabric. You might want to try this with a yarn you thought was stiff or not so great.
