If you dont know to jack up a car you probably shouldn't mess with your brake system especially the hydraulic part of it. Good video

Thank you. These videos are not for professionals. I mean I make mistakes and figure stuff out as I go. But I noticed the younger generation doesn’t bother looking at the manual that does come with a car. They rather look up stuff on KZbin. Also it makes people feel warm and cozy if they can visualize things. Honestly, I look up stuff on KZbin. But dealing with a 4-5000lbs car can be scary. In the end, I started this channel really by accident, and nice comments have kept me making just one more video. It’s been fun.

I like that bleeder Daniel. I'll have to get 2 different ones for my cars. My method seems prehistoric compared to yours. The tester looks to be worth every penny also. Cheap. Thanks 👍👍👍

No, just get the adapter. 1 bleeder, 2 adapters.

@@Turbo_Snail Cool. Kinda busy and just saved to a list. I'll check that better. Thank you!!

I bought a new Motive bleeder kit along with motive adapter that is advertised as compatible with Hyundai / Kia. I had mixed results. I just read the quick instructions on the box. ( No long detailed instructions paper included - you are supposed to print them from the Motive website & the FAQ's ) I skipped the dry test, where you connect the system, no fluid, & hold 13-15 psi pressure for ten minutes. and poured brake fluid into the Motive pump. I pumped and around 11 psi the adapter leaked fluid on my engine. NASTY. Of course, i picked the wrong size rubber o-ring adapter ( its not a spare they are different sizes).q I cleaned up. I then unscrewed the adapter, cleaned it , and screwed it back on, albeit tighter. Now the system holds pressure fine. Proceeded to bleed my brakes. Good. However, when I attempted to remove the motive adapter, it wouldn't turn. Tried & tried. Read on internet to double-check counterclockwise to remove . Waited for next day, my 250 lbs couldn't unscrew the adapter. Now im driving with the adapter still on but corked and encased in duct tape. Frustrating. I emailed Motive Support & they responded there is no procedure to remove an over tightened & wrong size rubber o ring. They pointed me to slip joint / Channel lock pliers .

That's really frustrating what you went through. Must have been a bad unit. I have adapters for Dodge, Mazda and Ford and I didn't have any issues. I love this thing. Maybe they'll hook you up with a replacement unit.

when you pulled out the remaining old fluid out the reservoir. did the remaining air void get pulled back into the brake flush tool or did the air get pushed into the brake lines? just asking so to know if i wait to see the remaining air come out when carrying out the brake bleed. thank you

I usually put a whole bottle of brake fluid into the tank. Once its pressurized (around 15 psi), once you open the valve at the individual caliper it will just push the fluid right through. When you see the color change all the air and old fluid should be out. I never used more than a liter of brake fluid in the canister. I wish they had a pressure release valve as when I'm done I have to open the canister which still have pressurized air. You don't have to worry about any air getting into your lines throughout the process. The system is well designed. Just make sure there is enough fluid in the canister or reservoir. As long as there is fluid in there it can't suck any air in. Trust me, once you do it, it's so simple. Everyone I know who got this is amazed by how quick and easy this works.

I wonder if it's possible to bleed all four brakes at one time as long as you keep the master cylinder filled?
@Turbo_Snail4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, with 4 people, absolutely. Just have enough fluid in the contraption. It will keep pushing the break fluid down. Technically, it would qualify as an F1 pit stop ;)

I change all vehicles every 12 months or sooner.

Depends on usage. If it’s hard driving, like at a racetrack, as often as every few races. But regular driving, once every 2 years is more than enough. Either way excellent that you do it. Most don’t for the life of the vehicle.

What is the pressure you should put in with the tool? That was 15 PSI or Bar?
@Turbo_Snail2 жыл бұрын
It's 15 PSI. It will say it on whatever tool you buy. The sweet spot is marked in the middle. Honestly, I think I went a bit above, but that tool is probably my favorite in my garage.

So I bled my car with new fluid and the tester is still giving me above 4% moisture. Any recommendations?
@Turbo_Snail2 жыл бұрын
Oh wow, that sucks. Was the fluid old? Maybe a faulty tester. You just put the contacts in? Get another bottle of new brake fluid from a different store and test it. It should reveal whether it’s a faulty tester or you bled with old oil. People haven’t been driving much. Maybe it was an old bottle just sitting around forever.

Do you have to jack up the car on all fours? Can you just do one tire at a time? So after you open up the brake valve, how do you know that enough fluid has been drained out? Will it change color?
@Turbo_Snail5 жыл бұрын
You can do 1 wheel at a time. I shot 3 episodes that day and the car was already jacked up on all 4. Yes. You will see the fluid getting lighter. It was hard to see on camera especially that Pentosin Super DOT4 is brown/orange. The reason I used that fluid is because I alternate between Pentosin and ATE 200 which is green/blue in color. This way, next time I flush it is clear as day. The Chrysler 200 had still its stock fluid in it, whereas my other 2 cars were on the green fluid. If you only do 1 car, get the ATE200 first and then use pentosin next time around. If you choose DOT3, it’s usually clear so you can clearly see it as well. Good luck! Thanks for watching.

Hi! You wasted the expensive brake fluid just to flush the old fluid. Just to flush old fluid why don’t you buy cheap 1 gal. New brake fluid?
@Turbo_Snail Жыл бұрын
Once the cheap stuff was out, I just did enough to cycle through. I usually get the gold fluid, next time around I get the blue stuff, then change again. It’s easier to see the difference especially when you flush it out every 2-3 years. On the Miata it’s changed every 6-9 months. Makes it a lot easier to see. Also, the dot3 is cheap stuff. Nothing I want in my car. I usually use a 1l bottle per flush. Once the bottle is open I try not to let it sit on the shelf too long, so I might as well use it. Either way, this is me, you do you. I appreciate you looking out for me, but tires and brakes is not a place I care about savings. Anything else however, I’ll pinch those Pennies hard. KZbin just not paying me enough to quit my job yet ;).
