Oh yes it does. It's not traditional but it works and it gives more fluidity. This way you can cajon on the same plane as congas or even djembe. Happy playing!

Thanks a lot. I've been wondering about the subject for almost a year. This is a quite accurate solution. It is a shame what manufacturers are doing with cajon's stands.

Manufactures have the goal of selling as much product as possible. As a whole, percussionists are more experiemental than most disciplines so if we try, we can come up with innovative ideas that we can share with one another. Enjoy your new found solution!

It's works pretty good - I've been doing this for years. You just have to get the right type of stand that won't slip.

The Gilbraltors' work well. That's what I'm using here.
