Thank you for your kind comment, Carol! My personal taste is a soft, organic vibe. I like the flowers to have some breathing room so the varieties and the textures can be noticed. When I was a new florist I would pack in the flowers really tightly and not only did it look less interesting, I used way more product.

How does this kind of arrangement with chicken wire transport? Do you find the flowers move around or fall out much? Or are they packed in enough they don't move? I REALLY like this style of centrepiece. I think it's my favourite! It's feminine, delicate and timeless, I LOVE it!
@FlowerMoxie Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! Chicken wire arrangements tend to hold up pretty well in transport! The chicken wire creates a structure inside the vase and as you continue to add stems into the vase, the stems and chicken wire will lock in together. Just be sure to secure your chicken wire into your vessel with waterproof floral tape to ensure your mechanics stay put!

I love this look! Would you be able to link the bowl you used from Target? I can’t find it on their website
@FlowerMoxie10 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! We purchased this bowl a couple years ago and it looks like Target doesn't sell it anymore (noooo!). But you can find something similar! Look for a low shallow cereal bowl or pasta bowl to achieve a similar look. They often come in pretty ceramic finishes!

Your videos are so helpful! Getting excited to my wedding with flower moxie. What size cup are you using here? Do you recommend a certain height to do something similar?
@FlowerMoxie Жыл бұрын
I'm so glad you found our lovin arms! I'm using what I consider a juice cup or low tumbler, it has about a 3.5 opening and about 4 inches tall. Think mason jar size, you use half the product you would in a 5-6'' bowl or compote.

Im planning to make these diy centerpieces a day or two before my wedding. How would you take care of them leading up to the big day and still maintain its beauty? Im also going to assume youd add water to the bowl, but how would you prevent water from spilling when transporting in a vehicle?
@FlowerMoxie2 күн бұрын
We have an entire DIY Academy to help you with all of this, and DIY Flower Packages. You can make it up to two days before your wedding and yes, you will have some sloshing during transfer. You'll need to tip it out a bit, and refill at the venue. Florist life! 😆 Check us out, doll! FlowerMoxie.com

Beautiful 😍 How much would you charge as a florist for an arrangement like this?
@FlowerMoxie2 жыл бұрын
To be honest, I feel out of the game since I'm not a full-time florist anymore, but I think $75-125 would be a typical range. The price of blooms have really shot up, so I'm thinking that would be reflected in today's pricing. It's the ranunculus and lisianthus that really increase the price because those guys run about $2.5 per stem at cost.

When doing a floral arrangement with chicken wire how do you keep the flowers well nourished or watered especially if it's an online order and will be shipped? I really love your channel and I am also new, so please forgive me in advance for asking so many questions! I am truly excited about my path of becoming a florist! Thanks again! 😊
@FlowerMoxie2 жыл бұрын
Chicken wire in the vase is the best mechanics to use because it doesn't clog up a stem the way wet floral foam does! Basically, you will wad up a ball of chicken wire, fill the vase with water, place a piece of waterproof floral tape over the top, and design your little heart out! Flowers are shipped to most florists, and getting them shipped SWA Cargo instead of FedEx is best, but either way, the flowers will do just fine. Remember, for event florals your goal is for them to look baller at the event, not to make them last 1.5 weeks....flowers look the best 1-2 days before they start going south. So glad my videos help you!

Why didn’t you turn the bowl to the other side? Just wondering? Thank you for sharing. ❤🎉🎉

We tried to show the arrangement from all angles! Working on a turnable (lazy susan) is so helpful when arranging so you can turn the arrangement and see all the sides easily! Was there a section that you didn't see?

Do you think I should use chicken wire in my lomey bowl I purchsed from flower moxie for the ceremony flowers?
@FlowerMoxie8 ай бұрын
The lomey bowl will be a little too shallow to use chicken wire. Using floral foam or an oshun pouch would be the best option!
@tatiana34902 жыл бұрын
What size bowl would you recommend for these types of arrangements?
@FlowerMoxie2 жыл бұрын
I like my compotes or bowls to run about 5-6'' in diameter! It doesn't really matter the height (unless it's super tall), but the mouth of the vessel really impacts the amount of product you need. For instance, using a vase that has a 7-9'' opening doubles my recipes.

How do you work with eucalyptus without your fingers getting full of sap? I tried it for the first time and I couldn't touch one thing after touching it. Then I couldn't get it off my fingers no matter how much I washed my hands. Thank you.
@FlowerMoxie Жыл бұрын
Eucalyptus sap can stickkkk. I like to wear either gardening/nitrile gloves or you can use a leaf/thorn stripper to help you out!
@katyb2793 Жыл бұрын
I would rub on oil or even hand cream, then wash off with soap to get the sap off (hopefully). Always fight oil with oil! Imagine cute koala bears munching on the leaves to ease frustration 😁🐨

beautiful! what size is the bowl? Looking for bowls now and they always seem so small!
@FlowerMoxie2 жыл бұрын
It was a normal serving bowl, so the opening was around 5-6'' which is my favorite vase size. XXXX, Amy
