This is definitely the easiest and most clearly explained tutorial I found. After trying another tutorial that had me going crazy and ready to quit I found this and it saved the project! Thanks so much for making sure everything was clearly explained and visible on camera.

Beautiful job! My daughter, who is a nanny, just sent me a pic of a carseat poncho and asked if I'd be able to make it. I've only learned how to sew on a machine within the last year, so of course I panicked lol...but I'm going to try. Thanks for making it look so easy. Adorable daughter/model too! Wish me luck!

Best and easiest poncho tutorial out there! The only thing is, I had to watch the video about 20 times to figure out how and where to place the hood in-between the 2 layers before sewing it in. Love the poncho!

I would turn the poncho inside out to stitch the bottom hem, leaving a gap to turn it right side out, then sew up the gap.

Gonna make one for my granddaughter! She lives with me and goes on rides with me when I work/deliver other people's order. Tired of pulling her out and put on a coat then knock on the door to deliver/drop off and collect money then back to the car and take the coat off and buckle her back in. Too much work. This is what I need, I'm gonna still put on a jacket that is thin but warm and add the poncho to be extra warm!

Thank you so much for the great video, I’m trying to make one for each of my grand babies, but I am stuck in sewing the hood on. Do you place the hood inside the hole or you pick a side and place it in there- with right sides touching each other?
@Charmedbyashley
@Charmedbyashley Жыл бұрын
Your going to sandwich the hood in the layers of the outer circle, lay the raw edges of the hood along the inner circle of one of the circles. Have the outer fabrics facing each other. Then lay the lining of your poncho on top, sew the inner circle securing the hood and then flip right sides out.

This is going to be my first sewing project! But I'm a little confused. When you're sewing the hood onto the poncho, when do you sew up the section of the neck that has no hood attached? Do you sew right around at the same time you're sewing the hood on, and then simply turn it inside out when done? :-)

@amandaburkhart6498
@amandaburkhart6498 5 жыл бұрын
Im not the person who made the video but how I do them is use that equation but instead of using the waist circumstance you use the head circumference of the head then find the radius to make your neck hole. I recommend making it a little smaller I've found sometimes how the fleece stretches the hole may be to big. Then you measure from the top of the shoulder to where you want the poncho to end.

Super Annie Oakley hmm so hard to know exactly what you talking about without seeing it, you are sewing the hood I'm with the main body of the poncho right sides together?
