I bet you could get better ribs from the butchers for a similar price. When i do ribs, i try to get a sweet but spicy sauce, and cover the ribs completely, adding abit of water and cover with foil. Then slow cook for about 2hrs, before removing the foil to reduce the sauce down abit for the last 30mins. The meat is falling off the bones by then and shouldnt have gotten tough like the way you can get with the pre packed ones you used can get.

Is this actually a good marinade? Might buy it if so? I used to love chinese marinaded stuff but rarely see it anymore. Ones i've seen on chops in Tesco don't taste anything like it.

looks like Aldi. but morrisons do have it, the price is apx a £1 or was last time i looked at the price

I take it you are NOT using Bran oil in the wok. it has a high boiling point for use in woks and you do not need much to coat the pan. the pak choy is not a cheap item for the amount you get. not sure if there is a conflict between the spices in the spare ribs and the mr Marinade. may be if you did the noodles with sliced pork or beef, and had the ribs on the side. since really you are not getting a very high meat amount from them.

may be you should look at this as a step to help people who can not do everything from scratch taking a few items and putting together in to a meal. instead of just paying more to buy the complete meal from a place that may sell it
