I used half banana and half avocado for this and decreased the sugar amount a little bit. The result was the best banana bread I've ever had! Thanks for all of your great recipes.

Just made it. I have been making your recipes for years. This is absolutely gorgeous, gorgeous!!!!! Perfect ingredients perfect everything Used avocado oil The only thing I changed is because I had no brown sugar left, I used coconut sugar in equal parts of the brown sugar needed. I did everything that you said to do, including the last of the mixing with a spatula to not make anything tough, and this is so so tender. It is exquisite !! thank you again John. ❤

Dry ingredients: All purpose flour 180 gms Dutch processed cocoa powder (extra dark) 33 gms Salt 1 tspn Baking powder 1 tspn Baking soda 1/2 tspn Cinammon powder 1/2 tspn Cardamom powder 1/2 tspn (optional) (Whisk the dry ingredients) Chocolate chips semi-sweet 135 gms Wet ingredients: Mashed ripe bananas 350 gms Eggs 2 Oil 120 ml (1/2 cup) Sour cream 80 gms Vanilla essence 2 tspns Light brown sugar 165 gms (Whisk well) Combine the wet and dry ingredients by folding. Dont overmix ! Prep the pan with baking spray and line the pan with a baking paper cradle. Pour the batter and top with sugar and chocolate chips. Bake for 350F for 50-60 mins or until skewer comes out clean.. If making muffins, bake at 425F for 5 mins and then 350 for 15-20 mins or until the centres are set.

Probably late to the party, tried this recipe and turned out to be the most moist and delicious banana bread I've ever had. I changed the light brown sugar to dark brown sugar and add a little bit more of cocoa powder because of personal preference. Happy with that choices. Thanks a lot for the recipe.
