EASY Chunky Crochet Throw Blanket Pattern (for Beginners!)

Learn how to make this super lux and cozy crochet throw blanket using Lion Brand Hometown yarn in this easy beginner pattern!
This blanket is so squishy and pretty heavy duty (it weighs in at a grand total of 6 lbs!)
To make it extra chunky, I held two strands of Lion Brand Hometown yarn together as one for the whole blanket. This made it work up super fast as well! You could probably finish this blanket in a few evenings, depending on how much time you have to work on it.
I'll show you how to make some beautiful tassels to add to the corners as well. I tied mine on with a basic double knot, and I intend to take the tassels off when I wash the blanket, just to be safe.
This blanket will definitely need to be washed on the bulky cycle because it's heavy, but it's made out of acrylic yarn that's machine washable.

▶︎ 10 skeins of Lion Brand Hometown Yarn BONUS BUNDLE (162 yds) in Dallas Grey: rstyle.me/+c27...
*NOTE: if you're using regular size skeins (81 yds) you'll need 20*
▶︎ 15 mm crochet hook: amzn.to/3X63WAM
▶︎ 7" piece of cardboard or something similar for making tassels
▶︎ large eye yarn needle

Instead of double yarn, can a chunkier yarn be used? And are you working all this from the back? Sorry for the questions, new to crocheting.

Sure, you could swap out the yarn for a chunkier version and it would work! Each row you turn your work, so it goes back and forth. I hope that makes sense!
