Recipe Credit the late aunty Faldiela Williams
Cape Malay Cookbook
Tried and Tested by gawa's kitchen
Ingredients
1 cup oil
1 cup light brown sugar
375ml/1+1/2 cup selfraising flour
350ml grated Carrots not chopped up Carrot like I say in the video 🤦♀️
2 teaspoons fine cinnamon powder
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
7ml baking powder
250ml chopped walnuts /pecan nuts
3 beaten eggs
pan I used 20cm×26 cm
Topping
1 tub smooth cream cheese
2 to 3 tablespoons castor sugar /can add more
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
walnuts/pecan nuts
preheated oven 180 degrees
35-40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
I baked mine for 30 minutes but all ovens vary in heat.
