This is a good idea! Here's a tip from someone who used to build theater sets and props: wood glue is STRONG. Instead of hot gluing the jenga pieces, I would sand them a little bit, then use wood glue and clamp them overnight, propped up somehow so that if any glue seeped out the sides it wouldn't glue it to your table.

To label your colors, I would take the small dots as they use for pricing at yard sales and such in white. If larger than the front lip, cut it in half, stamp with the color and apply. That way you can see at a glance what the color is.

I digital labels I take separate the paper goes in the labels I don't take the sticky back off I slide it on like storage cart .I leave back of the label on .I leave adhesive with white cardstock .if I change mind I'm not messing up white cardstock.I used to handwriting label then packing tape over it .I'm crazy crafter x mess ink on my hands wipe off label clean.I use both ways hopefully it helps y'all.😀✏💟☺ x happy crafting😀

This method would be perfect to use on the tiny space of wall between two doors or the wall space between a window and a corner or cabinet. I have collected several wooden music cassette holders to store my ink pads; most are just too big and I feel may not be the best use of my sparse wall space. That is why I also don't hang up my peg board. I saw an idea and can't remember who to give the credit for it; buy a thrifted mini ironing board usually for just a couple $$ with a wire grid under the pad, (be sure to check becase many have pressboard), take off the pad, paint the metal parts if you like and hang it on a wall verticle or horizontal and use hooks to hang a lot of different items. Hooks holding a wood dowel could hold ribbon or tapes. I found a real skinny one and two normal mini ones which won't take up much space but will hold a lot! I haven't figured out where to put them yet or I would send a picture. One has a way to hang it from a wire shelf unit on its side which won't take up any precious wall space!

Ingenious!!! I like the suggestion April Drust had for creating a wider board with space for the dauber. You could even go further and widen it enough to put a piece of metal strip length-wise, then stamp a round or square self-stick label & adhere to matching shape blank magnet, then put the corresponding magnet next to each stamp pad. This way as you add/move the pads you can move the corresponding magnet. This idea can be expanded on using any size board to become as detailed as you want (i.e. color blending/blocking samples etc).

I found your videos today. I’m thrilled to discover that you created this ink pad storage system. I don’t like clutter but I have medical issues that have impaired my memory, so it’s easier if I can actually see what I have. This idea takes care of both, so does the rain gutter system that I watched earlier!! I can’t wait to show both of them to my daughter!!! I also organize items in rainbow order when ever possible. As for labeling them, I use white 3x5” cards to cut strips, color the strip with the item, such as ink, colored pencil, etc. Then I attach the strip to the item with the clear, shiny tape. It’s super strong, adheres instantly with no odor or drying time. Then I put the item away and smile great big! 😃 I’m really looking forward to learning more from you. Thank you for being on KZbin.

Very clever! I always go rainbow order and if I have multiple of shades I put each shade from light to dark so I know roughly where my dark reds would be and it narrows down the hunting. I used thin labels for my ink pads. I stick them on a glass mat or my heat resistant mat and swipe the ink colour on it. I also have a colour swatch book so for the water activated ones I can splash a few drops and see the colour variation. I also swatch all,y card stocks and colouring mediums so I can pull out swatches to colour co-ordinate my projects.

Address Labels! I sramp my ink color onto regular white address labels, then cut them lengthwise into thin strips and stick them to the outside edges of the lid. I made a stamp pad holder using foam core board a couple years back, and have my ink pads slid in with the short side exposed, so only needed short strips for each end, but a regular address label would be plenty long for the longer sides. And I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THOSE JENGA BLOCK SETS FOR AGES! I hope I can find some soon. Thanks for being you, and always having such a positive attitude.

Norreen! You’re a genius and my FAVE source of inspiration!!!!! I store my ink pads by color basics. All the reds (for example),from darkest on bottom to lightest on top, in vertical turntable storage towers... from Stampin Up. Called Color Caddies. Not made any longer. I love them, small footprint for a zillion Ink pads! Alas, completely full. I’ll employ your method for other brands of pads👏👍👏💕👏. Also, I use a small solid image stamp, stamp it in each ink color o a good weight white card stock as a swatch. Sometimes I cut a short strip of the swatch to adhere to the side or end of the ink pad lid. Sometimes I use a regular office hole punch to get a dot from the swatch to put on side and/or end of pad lid. I also use the swatch dot glued to top of ink refill bottles so I do t have to search through and read labels. This system has been working fabulously for me... for about 12 years now. Thanks, Norreen, for another great idea from start to finish. ESPECIALLY for keeping the small fail in the video. I find it easier to learn from a mistake I can see.

You are so brilliant! Regarding labeling the various ink pads, you could take the ink and apply it directly to paper and then either cut out a strip the width and height of side of ink pad and attach it (or just punch out a small dot and adhere). I always store my ink pads in rainbow order, from light to dark, ie mint green followed by dark green. What I have heard about storing ink pads up, down, or sideways, is that it depends on what the 'pad' is made of, ie is it felt or sponge. Tim Holtz claims that his felt pads and all felt pads can be stored either way. Regarding sponge ink pads, the only way I would store them is up, like the way you have them shown in the video (but perhaps storing them upside down is another option but I would investigate this further). Thanks Norrine!
