Button Babies - easy amigurumi series for beginners
1 Little Chick (Right Handed version)
Beginner friendly cute practice project
Step by step instructions on how to make a little amigurumi chick.
This project only uses 2 basic stitches.
We will practice the single crochet (sc) stitch, the slip stitch (sl st), and a magic ring (MR) and an invisible end.
Every crochet stitch is shown in this tutorial.
To make a little button baby chick you will need:
Yarn for chick body - about 5 grams: Size 2 (Fine), 5 ply, 6 fädig, 18 wpi
Yarn for beak about 40 cm: Size 2 (Fine), 5 ply, 6 fädig, 18 wpi
Hook size: 3.5 mm
Safety eyes 10 mm (x 2)
Stuffing, fiber fill, hobby fill
As a beginner, this project will probably take longer, but for intermediate crochet skills, this project will take around 1 hour.

Notes:
If you find your work has gaps - use a slightly smaller hook
If your work is too tight - use a slightly larger hook
In general amigurumi is made using a hook 1 or 2 sizes smaller than the hook recommended on the ball of yarn.
Make your little chick in any colour you like.
Use a larger size yarn and hook for a larger chick.
