The Mosaic Goldfish is a fast and no-sew amigurumi project that includes 4 different scale designs, allowing you to crochet a variety of fish. More customizations can be done by using different yarn color combinations, yarn weights, and yarn fibers. Stitches featured in creating the fish scales include the use of drop stitches, puff stitches, and working in back loops only.
This underwater sea creature can be made into a keychain or as a realistic stuffed animal toy for children to play with. It is great as a birthday gift, Christmas or holiday gift, or as craft fair products. Girls and boys alike will love these unisex and gender neutral stuffies! The tail was torture to understand at first but once I get the general pattern, I decided to go free style and make the tail however the hell I want 😂 The result is not even or orderly like yours but I think I like it better. Thank you for this pattern 😊

Your crochet had the most realistic tail & looked so pretty. I was able to understand the tail but not the fins 😂 thouugh it should be much easier. It took me around 6hrs to make and mom wants this made into a keychain

I am a novice scarf crocheter in triple stitch only. No fancy stuff. I have never so frustratingly enjoyed a craft as much a making this dish. I am in first tail after unlocking fish about 4 times. After watching a video, I think I actually yarn over! I can try yarning under but it feels unnatural to me. I just make sure my tension is not too loose to make the tighter/neater stitches!

I'd recommend using thinner yarn and a smaller hook! :) If you change teh stitches, you'll need to change the rest of the pattern too

The "color work" is really just switching colors, and my PDF pattern gives instructions on where/which round to switch! I think it's been really helpful for beginner crocheters, from what my testers and customers have said. ^_^ HOpe this helps!

I bought the pdf but I think it would have been very helpful if you wrote at end of row #0f chains we should wind up with.. row 1. I chained 15, skipped 1 chain and went down the back. So have 13 sc. is that correct.

Sorry about that, thanks for the feedback! If you ch 15, sk a ch, and sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, you should end up with 14 sc total in that round (counting the first sc you made).

You could double it, so start with a magic ring with 12 SC and double all the other instructions! It mate work haha! People may have other ideas though!

Wouldn’t it be easier to do the fins before you stuff it? I’m going to experiment with different fin styles I think 😁

You can do that if you want! :) It can be easier in terms of not accidentally pulling out stuffing with your hook.

I noticed you put the caps on the safety eyes inverted. ???

I used to put them on inverted because the other way may cause an indent in the eyes and cause the yarn to cave in, making the eyes look "grumpy".
