EASY crochet baby ballet slippers - dainty crochet baby booties / shoes

This video is a detailed step by step tutorial on how to crochet pretty baby ballet slippers / booties / shoes. These baby slippers fit 0-3 months.
For my baby slippers I used a 4mm crochet hook, Drops Muskat yarn and US terms.

This is an adorable pattern! Many thanks to the designer for such a carefully detailed tutorial describing/showing each step. I made these in size 6-9 mos. (2.0"W x 4.25"L sole) with classic 4 ply soft acrylic yarn (Hobby Lobby) using 4.5 mm hook. I tend to crochet rather tightly so you may want to adjust your hook size up or down .5 mm if you crochet loosely. I always find sizing to be the hardest part, especially when making something for someone outside of your household and can't measure as you go. Hope this helps someone!

The second slipper went faster, and I want to thank you for telling your chrocheters what they are doing (enlarging the heel) and the purpose of particular stitches. There are so many things that can be made from crochet that when you try something different, no matter how many stitches you know, you can always use a little help. Written instructions often have mistakes or take things for granted. My little grandson is going to look so dapper in these booties. BTW I used multicolor, Spring pastels yarn, which made it extra difficult to see the stitches. Thanks for your excellent video.

I like the looks of this pattern very much, and I just made it with you. I only have 1 question? You are explaining each step as one would be for a fairly new crocheter, but then you didn't really show that you turned the shoe, and now working from the inside back. Also when starting the 4 tr's I did see your st was a little elongated, which makes the tr's more centered.

Thanks for the video! It can be hard to read the patterns when you're a beginner and it really helped to see your work. It also really helped how you repeated what you were doing. I ended up making a couple slippers because 0-3 months wasn't big enough for my one month old. I found that 6.5 mm worked for her foot which is 3.5 inches.

Just a tip for those using other yarn - I made this with Simply Soft to start with, and the 4mm hook. It was about an inch too small for a newborn. I kept the Simply Soft yarn, but went up to a 5mm hook - perfect size! I love the yarn used here, but can not find anything similar...and the Simply Soft matches the set I made anyway. :)
