To everyone🧶 Someone counted 48 rows, so for the two color hat, do 24 rows of half double, back loop only in one color and the other 24 in another color. For a one color hat, instead of splitting that number in half, just do all half double, back loop only 48 rows in one color. ***Remember to measure the rectangle around your head before closing. Yes yes you can! It won't affect much of the look, only how you stitch the rows together later in the process.
