Living in the tropics and loving crochet and knitting, I was delighted to recently find a Woollen Mills in my country that I use to support, now sells 4, 8 & 10 ply 100% cotton in 200gm balls. In the past two weeks, they have introduced a Twisted Cotton which has a great handle and while not a huge number of colours, their colors are lovely. The method you show here would be ideally suited in the 4 ply. So thank you.

Thank you. This is the only video that I found using the triangle shape for filet crochet. I am thinking this technique would lend itself nicely to use with Stitch Fiddle for incorporating a design, something simple like a symmetrical silhouette.

The granny stitch is one of my favorites as it's simple, versatile, and allows the mind to wander while being productive. If you enjoy the granny stitch style you should check out the cardigan series I did recently. Also hope to do a vest soon as well. 😉

@jeniferepkey34265 жыл бұрын
This might be a stupid question, but I'll ask it anyway. Could I follow your basic instructions (when you're using the red yarn) and instead of working DC into the previous DC, work them into the chain spaces? I'm thinking I would still increase the same way you are at the beginning and ending of the rows. Thoughts? Also, thank you for this tutorial!
@FiberSpider5 жыл бұрын
Questions are never stupid, unless you already know the answer 😉. It sounds like it would work structurally but if you work into the spaces would lose the grid formation. Give it a try, experiment, learn, above all - have fun with it!
@jeniferepkey34265 жыл бұрын

@jenniferhanks56707 жыл бұрын
I think I can do this one most of the time I try one it goes good until the video stops then i lose myself. With that how many rows should I do. I don't think I could do a chart although I do love the brown one you have started. I am dyslexic and it's hard for me to follow patterns even when its a repeat I can follow the videos fairly well but I want to try this one. I do well with finding my stitches so I think I can do this.
@FiberSpider7 жыл бұрын
I have found that with time, patience, and a bit of humility - one can do most anything! Charting a graphed pattern can be a fun way to personalize this shawl, but it is by no means necessary. Sometimes simplicity is its own beauty. 😊 As for how many rows, just keep going till the two triangle tips go past the fingertips of your outstretched arms, that's how I gauge the size, or whatever works for you. You can do it! 😄

I just did a small sample of this and didn't like the size of the hole, so I'm going to make it smaller, but can I had arm holes to it?
@anguafluffyfeet48346 жыл бұрын
Liz S what hole didn't you like? The Starting circle or the chain1 spaces? If you want arm spaces, you can just chain26 or bigger or smaller in the place where you want the arms to be. Watch the versatile Caron vest of Fiber Spider for the armholes. He explains is so wonderfully.
