This poor woman gets so many snarky comments. She makes basic food that is affordable, made with a loving spirit, give her a break. By the way, do you all wash your cans, cheese packages, hamburger and milk jugs before you cook with them? She put her cheese box in for demonstration purposes and then boiled the dish which should kill most germs, good grief.

I always wipe off cans and packages when I bring them home from the grocery store. Manufacturing plants and warehouses usually have mice and rats. Mice dribble urine almost continuously, so when they are crawling around over those cans and packages, they are peeing on them. Not something I want around my food.

One of my favorite crockpot meals I used to make years ago was a meat spaghetti sauce recipe I got from an Italian friend in the latter 1960's when I stayed with her & her mother and it was served for dinner. It had the typical ingredients: hamburg, tomatoes/sauce/paste, onions, mushrooms, herbs/salt & pepper & one additional ingredient not usually in the meat sauce, 1/4 cup of vermouth, but don't remember if it was dry or sweet. Too many years have passed. Now that Fall is here, time to dig out the crockpot & cook up some recipes!
