Hi Jenny. My layout is DC, and whilst the DC option is attractively packaged and the self adhesive backing is an advantage there is a considerable price premium (x2) over buying standard pre wired LED's (20p each), sticky pads and some SPST switches (80p each). I've also overcome the brightness issue by adding in some Buck converters DC to DC (£8 for a pack of 5) which allows easy brightness adjustment over each lighting circuit irrespective of the number of LED's on it.

A very useful video. I’ve been pondering how best to install lighting on my layout, and this for me is the answer. Thanks for putting the video together!

Great informative video as usual. I want to install an accessory bus. What voltage would you say is most versatile for a variety of accessories?I'm not keen on a 12v bus requiring resistors to reduce voltage for each accessory. I've also considered running 3 or 4 twisted pairs around the layout to make 3v, 5v, 9v, 12v etc. available without fussing with resistors What are your thoughts please.

Thanks for this video - it just arrived as I am looking at lighting a layout. Could this system be used for street/platform lights as well ? If so how would this be done ?

Thank you. Great timing as I’m almost at the point of applying lighting to the layout. Is there a way to put a timer onto the circuits, such that without intervention, lights (in buildings) could be set to switch on and off?
