I received my package... I LOVE the small stones in the brooches and flat backs. They all sparkle beautifully. I am not so pleased with the brooches that have large stones in them. They are dull and the vintage crystal brooch looks as though it is smudged all over, but does not wipe off. The large center stone is not pretty at all. I am making my own bridal bouquet. This is a first time ever project. I am hoping to start making them full time for others. We will see??? Thank you

Just a tip, use a drill to twist the wires. Tape the ends together (after tightening by hand at the base of the brooch) and place the taped ends together and lock them into place in the opening of a drill, close the drill tightly and pump the trigger a couple of quick times while holding the brooch in your other hand securely. This will save your wrists.

I saw a vid yesterday where a woman took the long wire (after she had initially started twisting it tight), put some scotch tape around the bottom of the rest of the long wire then put it into the shank of a drill. When she turned it on it twisted the rest of the wire really tightly in a matter of seconds! You might want to try it. It was amazing. No more sore fingers!!

Hi, first of, great video. Can I use a real Hydrangea? Will it last for 10 hrs or the silk is better for such project? Thanks.
@TotallyDazzled7 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I am so glad you liked the video. Yes, I think this would work with a real hydrangea but I am not a floral designer so I can't say for sure. I know that real hydrangeas require a lot of water to stay beautiful otherwise they brown. I would ask the florist you will be purchasing the hydrangea from to see what they recommend to keep it looking beautiful.

oh and how about a brooch corsage with flower?
@TotallyDazzled9 жыл бұрын
Dzvic I think the same principles would apply. Just cut the stem and wires shorter for a corsage piece.
@plussizebeauty897 жыл бұрын
I would leave the wire straight and tack it on with a bit of floral tape, or even hot glue, up at the top.. instead of wraping the wire around the stem.. it would look much neater

what size of flora wire?
@TotallyDazzled2 жыл бұрын
Hi Vanessa! Thank you for watching, the size will depends on how long or big you wanted your bouquet looks like 😊
@Dzvic9 жыл бұрын
how would this work with real flowers?
@TotallyDazzled9 жыл бұрын
Dzvic I think you could do it the very same way. You would just need to be extra gentle mixing the brooch flowers in so you don't damage the real flowers.

I got very concern in few little things, I just think the video is very good, but we should feed the correct information of the techniques and tools you are going to use. I guess all purpose scisors are not appropiated for this very very heavy wire cutting, secondly, the floral tape have to be streached properly so the tape paper will stick to each other, and third, the cleaning of your handle bouquet, so won't look "messy" and twisted, this is a key, just for two reasons, comfort and good mechanics, meaning clean basing... And to use fresh flowers... NO, Is not the same, you need to treat your flowers even before you start preparing this, specially Hydrangeas, be very careful when you just that type of flowers... learn how to treat them before working with them.... Just saying...
