Easy DIY chain oiler with push button

I was surprised at how much chain oilers cost so I decided to make my own and picked the brains of a few other KZbinrs for the best ideas. The whole thing cost me less than twenty British pounds. I am really pleased with it. If I can make this anyone can. All components can be found on eBay.

I've used the Scott-Oiler for a long time, and I haven't had any performance issues whatsoever. The vacuum is tiny and just stays there once created, I'm sure the cylinder gets the air it needs nonetheless. However, that project of yours is definitely a nice one; cheap and easy to put together, and if it works, well - that's what matters! 😀 Good job, and have a nice ride - greetings from Denmark! P.S. I do recommend letting the oil onto the sprocket rather than directly on the chain, though.

I designed the same setup but my reservoir is the hollow head stock, I’ve put a stopper in the bottom and filled it with oil and put the pipe in it.

i have this one too in cbr f4i , i have reservoir from brake reservoir from yamaha r1 rn12 - big but pretty look. my last chain last because this 40.000km

I have the same project under way ( I got the idea from kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZOTYpaue7hkmNk ) I liked his idea of oiling the chain slider, I've had issues with tubes catching an being ripped out by chain or at very lest wearing drippers or misaligning them, I like your handlebar mount and the ease of visibility. I intend to pump mine at lights / junctions while stationary, that way I can mount it all near the swing arm, It would be good to see your experiences, in another video or via the comments on here Best of luck and thanks for the video.

Thanks for the comment. I will do a follow up. I think the copper wire will keep the feed in place, fingers crossed. I was going to mount the whole thing near the chain but it was so easy to make the bracket I changed my mind.

Can get a loobman for £17 must have cost you more than that in parts

I had a look at the loobman but I think the delivery system is better on mine and slightly less hassle to install. I haven't seen them for £17, that is a great price, most were over £20 when I was looking. I probably spend about £17 on this too. I bought a few things that were surplus but I enjoyed doing the job.
