I continue to be amazed, my wife continues to shake her head, mainly because the last thing I ever need is “a new project”. But darn I gotta do this and probably need 3, 2 as gifts. I’m a plans in the hand guy. Plus it’s my way of showing a little support for the time, effort, and continued creativity 👍🏼 👍🏼

Really like all the easy fence picket projects and I've made several of them, but have you ever thought about doing some intermediate level projects like some high end furniture? I'm sure a lot of the community would enjoy that as well, just a thought, love the channel Matthew !!

What inspires you to create these projects. I'm curious if you would make a video showing your process. From the idea, to the prototype, to the complete project. I'm sure inspiration can come from anywhere. But let us get into the mind of Matthew Peech. Let's not go too far. I'm not sure if we can take it. 😅 keep doing what you do.

You could shorten the length of the boxes to be about flush with the top part of the box to the legs. Then run slats up the sides as a trellis for a comb box and trellis. As other commenter suggested a bird hose for the top. A three way now.
@davidlaing7684Күн бұрын
Additional maybe two smaller boxes at the bottom outside for the trellis plants.

Ok don’t trash me cause I think this is an awesome project!! But for some reason to me it looked like the blades on the windmill looked a little too aggressive at that 45 degree angle. I will make an attempt to build this with a blade angle of some where between 25 -35 degrees because I got curious and looked up the optimal blade angle for windmills and that is what it showed. Awesome video thank you again sir!

great idea, however I will probably add a screen to the bottom of the windmill house to keep the wasps out. i have given up on the 2$ pickets and moved to the 3/4 inch pickets. costs more but are better quality. Here in Florida where I am the 2$ picket s are left outside in the rain
@ianjulie24623 сағат бұрын
Really like this idea. Thank you for giving us all the cuts and dimensions. I'm curious if you did any sanding at all. Typically my fence pickets have a fuzzy side and a smoother side. Did you sand the boards before you started the cuts? P.S. For anyone who is on the fence, I'm in the Woodworking Kickstarter course and find that it's well worth the money. Intro to all the tools, lots of short videos about tips and techniques, and plans with full videos that start from scratch and get progressively more advanced.
@MatthewPeechWoodworking4 сағат бұрын
If I run into this problem, then yes I will sand beforehand. Also, glad to have you in the course! As always, let me know if you run into any questions

Could you add a little motor to the blades?
@Damon_BarberКүн бұрын
So cool!! Any idea what these might go for? I know that’s a tough question because it varies by area, but I’m wondering if there is anything on the market similar that could be used as a guide. Like planter boxes + windmill = X
@Damon_BarberКүн бұрын
I’m also wondering if you could cut a hole in the back and have it also serve as a small bird house.

If some stores are starting to short change customers by making their fence pickets thinner… it will throw off all the plans in your shop. Have you considered adjusting the plans you sell to account for that? Like add a second set of measurements just in case someone gets a thinner board?

Another great project, thanks. At -20 this am, it is also a nice reminder spring is coming! A suggestion for the house part…use the small heads finish screws. I find in small pieces, they are less likely to spit the wood. I always seem to remember that right AFTER I spilt a piece! 😂
