Congrats on the new trailer! I’m going to miss watching new modifications on the pop up camper.

Thanks! Time for a new project - the camper was complete. I did upgrade the Awning, shot a video of it - just haven't edited it, I don't know if I will.

I ordered two of the 280-ah versions for our 5W trailer. It looks to be ~2" too wide for that Camco battery box; otherwise, the Length and Height would have worked. I bought a roll of 1/8" thick rubber to cushion the bottom of the batteries, as I remember those bridges and construction areas coming down from the Midwest to Florida. This summer, we will be off-road in a USFS campground supporting 50 campgrounds and need lots of amps to support ordering firewood and TP for our camp hosts. The pine trees at our campground require a combo of roof-mounted and ground-mounted solar to minimize our generator time in the canyon near Mt Princeton Hot Springs. Guests of the campground here in FL see my feet sticking out of the storage bay as I slowly build out our system. If they only saw the evolution of my solar education in the last 16 years to strive for the best affordable system yet. Let's hope I install this 60-pound inverter with the prewire without a hitch so it can drink the nectar of these wonderful LiTime batteries, my electronics instructor from 1983 would have been so proud. Cheers, Davey

So I had noticed that battery box, but I had NOT noticed this battery that actually fit it! Sadly I just bought a 100ah group 24 size direct fit battery. Had I saw this litime battery actually fit that case...well I probably would have gone with that battery. Now I need to think hard about my goals to see if I want to do this upgrade or not after I just bought a $200 battery Still, Im glad you posted that it would work so Ill know for the future.

Sell you battery on FB and buy the bigger one!

You may want to reconsider only strapping the battery box down to the tongue. I drilled through the bottom of my camco box and bolted it. The straps looped around to hold the lid on. On a recent trip, the straps somehow came loose and I lost the lid off of one of my camco boxes. If the strap is the only thing holding your battery down, it might decide to take flight on the highway somewhere.

I'll be moving the battery under the bed shortly, thanks for the heads up!

Not quite “drop in” for many trailer owners. Back feeding from the lithium battery to the lower voltage tow vehicle battery, having adequate gauge wires, older MaxFans are not compatible with the higher 14.4 charging volts, a voltage regulator of some type would be needed. The converter auto detect features are not quite auto detect, there is a particular process that has to be followed. Anyway, after all the prep work is done, a lithium upgrade is well worth the extra effort.

What battery box are you using for your li time 12v 230ah battery? I recently purchased a li time 12v 280ah battery for my kayak and having trouble finding a battery box that will fit. TIA

Not related, but have you thought about the lippert bolt on shocks for our campers? Just got back from Colorado and want to aid in the bounce across I 70.

Shoot you got a new ride

Add a 12v heating pad inside the box so you can charge in low temps.

You *really* need a high-AIC catastrophic fuse on these lithium batteries. ANL or Class T. There's a whole lot of power in these, they shouldn't really be called "drop in" replacements ... they have distinct requirements.
@One2ManyHobbies4 ай бұрын
@@pmcallister there is a class T fuse in front of my inverter & I’ll be moving the battery under my bed, where I’ll be adding a 250aml terminal fuse directly to the battery.
@JeffinTDАй бұрын
@@One2ManyHobbies I was going to suggest that, especially if you camp where it’s below freezing.
