Easy Explosion Box Card Tutorial for the Cricut (with free SVG file!)

PLEASE NOTE: I updated the SVG cut file for this project and it's now a simple upload-and-go project - the score lines are already set and attached to the layers for you! There's no need to do anything other than possibly resize the project if you wish. So everything from time marker 3:19-5:52 in the video is no longer necessary to do! :)

I just discovered too that when you use colour sync, you don't need to move each individual item. Instead, you just click and drag the vertical bar of colour next to the objects you want to recolour, and drag all of them into the new colour. Hurrah!

Jennifer, just finished your endless explosion box for my granddaughter's 12th Birthday so of course I made all 12 labels. I had searched for weeks, wanting to make a layered money gift box for our family teens. I couldn't find one so I created a two-layer hexagon from a hexagon card pattern, as I wanted lots of pockets, but the pockets were so small, we had to roll the dollar bills to fit. It was still a hit, but this is the FIRST one I have seen that is exactly what I was looking for!! Thanks!!

I can't wait to make this! One tip: instead of moving each individual item in Color Sync, you can grab the little color indicator and move THAT to the color you want everything to be. Much quicker way if you want to change the color of multiple layers.

Yes made my first explosion box, made tiny photos to fit in the pockets, added personalised memory notes, embellishments. Great tutorial thakyou, simple and clear to follow and particularly liked the mat reduction technique used a scoring stylus so no tool changing. Really pleased to make something so effective.
