I tried the Blacker the Berry tonight. Didn't have a true spicy shrub/bitter (will have to add one) so I used my a tiki bitter with a bit of spice that seemed to work well. I had everything else though and it was very good. Actually tried a second one using cassis instead of blackberry which I might even like better

Nice video! I would like to try the Blood Orange Margarita especially 👍 I have never heard of Luxardo Bitter Bianco before 🤔 I would also like to try the first cocktail but I can’t get Bittermens Hellfire Shrub. Are there any good subs for it? Why did you get a new juicer? Did the other one break or did you just want a new one? I recently bought the same type of juicer and it’s pretty fantastic. I love that you can just pour the juice directly into your jigger. I use it to make both citrus juice and pineapple juice with. It actually works wonderfully to make pineapple juice with. Have you tried that?

Would you consider the Blinker cocktail to be a fall or winter cocktail? (Even though I drink them all the time lol).
@TheEducatedBarfly2 жыл бұрын
Yeah the blinker is definitely a good fall cocktail
@als.29832 жыл бұрын
Blood oranges are are great winter fruit; their raspberry note is a wonderful variation to many citrus cocktails. Hope to see more blood orange specs in the future. Thanks for the Margarita spec. Would Campari, Aperol or Cappelletti work as a sub for Bitter Bianco? Which, if any, would work best (trying to cut down on bottle count)? Viewer Tip: You can buy lime/lemon size or bigger blood oranges. If you stick to lime/lemon size fruit you can use your citrus squeezer to juice easily.

I saw your video on Super Juice the other day and I'm wondering. Is it a good idea to swap fresh citrus juice with the super juice in most drinks? For example in the "Blacker the berry, sweeter the juice" - drink? Only from the perspective of taste for the layman doing drinks at home that is, not shelf life.
@TheEducatedBarfly2 жыл бұрын
What I’ve found is that for drinks like the daiquiri or mojito it’s a great sub for fresh juice. But it can be very overpowering (flavor wise) and doesn’t work as well for drinks with more nuanced flavors. For commercial use it is a game changer though so it mmm for those more delicate drinks recipes may need to be dialed in with new specs
@ThePersmo2 жыл бұрын
@@TheEducatedBarfly Cool! I guess a good way to test it out is making one with each and adjust the amount of juice to one's taste. In the end it's all about what you like anyway. I'm looking forward to testing out the things i learn on this channel. Thanks! :D

I’m just wondering, how does the Skater on Crack falls into the fall style cocktails? Looks amazing btw, just a little confused?
@TheEducatedBarfly2 жыл бұрын
I would guess that depends on how you define a “fall” cocktail. Is it ingredients or a flavor profile? For me it’s a flavor profile that reminds me of fall. The juxtaposition of Jäegermeister and pineapple just makes it seem like an appropriate fall cocktail
@lewismaclean88492 жыл бұрын

I always find the "Bartender ketchup" saying weird, because that would imply that tomato ketchup makes everything taste good. I think it just makes everything taste like ketchup and whether that's good or bad depends on one's relationship with ketchup.
