I adore your videos Rachael. I am a professional wildlife artist and have been a working artist almost all of my long career. I put my only child through his bachelor degree with the sale of my work. So I feel a kinship with you and your charming son Parker. I paint all day and in the late evening I watch your videos to chill out, learn something new, and laugh because you are funny as well as talented. Keep up the good work. You were meant to be a teacher as you are a natural. I love it when you make me laugh. Kathryn

Wow this is the nicest comment I've gotten in a while and I appreciate it so much. It makes me happy to know I add joy and relaxation to your day. I'd love to see your work. Do you have a website?

I'm by no means a professional, but I thought hake brushes were flat? Doesn't matter, your lesson was delightful. I try so hard to let go of my perfectionist attitude, and watercolor is a huge learning curve for me. But, trying, and heading to see what else you have. This one is fantastic, and I'll definitely try it. It needs no other elements, beautiful just by itself. ❤

14:54. I really enjoyed painting this tree along with you. I didn't draw it out first or use masking, but love it just as much.

That's what so great with trees - you really don't need a drawing, as long as you get them centered roughly over the trunk, you're good!

Hi! I just love this style and it was so fun to do with you. It turns out though, my sister wants to put it in her office but I don't want to take credit for your beautiful art. Would you mind if I gave my version as a gift to her?
@rachelparkervarner3 жыл бұрын
Of course not. I don't mind when my students sell their paintings. I just ask that they don't sell prints. If you give away prints for charity or for gifts that's fine too.

Great video, Rachel, thanks so much. I especially love your tip on splaying the brush bristles; I've been after that look for years & couldn't achieve it...now I can!!
