Another one is instead of wireframe modifier, you do delete faces only then merge by distance, followed by rip (throws an error but it works) and convert to curve. The curve gets automatic UVs which can be used for texturing and aniso tangents. Nice way to get object made by separate tube sections.

That would be interesting, and I’ve known people to use Blender for 3D printing. I’ve only done it in Maya but Blender can save out .stl files, so yeah, it can handle it. I guess you’d just need to make sure it’s airtight.

anyone know any tutorial on how to bake this mesh grill with opacity map? all I can find is tutorial on how to do the cage. You don't expect everyone to use high density poly on their render project or for game asset.

You can do an orthographic render of the object filling the camera frustum, like top down, and save it as a png with alpha, and then assign that image to a plane and you’ll get the look without all the overhead. Does that help?

Awesome! Just what i was looking for while trying to make some of these latticed, foldable plastic boxes (i'm sure they have a name) that you see everywhere^^ Edit: "collapsible plastic crate" is what i was referring to. Rolls of the tongue just like "latticed foldable plastic box".
