I was able to fix the issue with a new supply valve from a registered Bosch parts supplier for $26. This could also be a drain hose issue that causes the same error code or a leak from a seal somewhere else.

Thank you for making and posting this video. My Bosch dishwasher threw an E:15 error code on the long weekend. This video was one of the first things that showed up in my search. Your diagnosis of a leaking inlet water supply valve was the exact same problem that my dishwasher had. A simple phone call and a trip to a local Bosch part supply store cost me about $30. Thanks so much! This gave me the courage to take our dishwasher to bits! In our case, it turned out that there was some dirt / grit in the bottom left corner of the door seal which meant water was dripping through there, hitting the metal plate with the projected time remaining on and then flowing into the base which is what triggered the flood E15 alarm. A good clean to remove the dirt fixed the seal and (so far!) it seems to have resolved the issue. Thanks so much!

Fantastic. I have a different model of Bosch but this gave me all the knowledge i needed to fix the problem in about 20 min (and part of that was finding the right screwdriver bits) Very easy to follow, though for newbies like me, I recommend taking a picture of each step of disassembly so if you get lost on how things go back together, you have references

Excellent video. I was able to pull my dishwasher apart tonight. There was water in the tray, but no visible leaks despite testing it for a good 30 minutes. Dried it all up, reassembled and ran the dishwasher again and it was fine. Strange! Thank you for the great video and clear instructions.

This video matches exactly what happened to my Bosch dishwasher, including that the fault was in the water inlet valve. Although I had a repairman do the repair, I think that I saved money by providing the diagnosis and the replacement part. Doooood… you the man! 👍🏻 For anyone with a Junker dishwasher the error code equivalent is E31 same tap icon and stuff (Junker do integrated appliances for German kitchens in Europe and seem very similar to Bosch). I also managed to get the kick plate off without removing the panel (expensive German kitchen I didn’t wanna play too much! 😰 mine weren’t Philips but T20s). Dried it out and the error code was gone…. Oh yeah, don’t put washing up liquid in your dishwasher when you run out of tabs, this basically caused the dishwasher to overflow and trigger that leak sensor or Water Protection System as they call it so basically I fixed a dishwasher that wasn’t really broken… 🙂

Have a Bosch dishwasher, model number was on the side of the door. Had a 5yr extended warranty, but the dishasher failed at 5yrs 1 month. Followed your video - was able to determine it needed the same part. Ordered from Amazon, make sure the part supports your model number - installed ok. Had to pull out the dishwasher, but it all went back together ok. -- Thanks for your help.

Your video was very good to a point. You failed to show how to access the supply valve - that you must pull the dishwasher out and access it from the rear. My advice on that is to mark the location of the feet in the front so you can put the dishwasher back in the right place.

Thank you for the video, it has helped me a lot! For those who aren't very handy and don't want to disassemble or change parts, I solved it by tilting the dishwasher to one side until stagnant water started to come out from the bottom. After that, the error didn't appear anymore, and I was able to start the dishwasher. What I will do is turn off the water between each use and see how long it lasts that way!

Hi pall... I did exactly the same what you've written. The water exit to my floor. I colected the water. And after that i conected it...and the error desseapered. But, anyway, i'm very afraid to continue to use it. I'm afraid of not happen a fire. Because, let's agree....the error says that there is a problem. Can you tell me pls your succes during all this time...what to expect. The problem is, that in my country, we don't have professional workers to repair the dishwasher, and i'm afraid for not paing a lot of money, without being the problem solved. @@0990-l7b been using like this for months, no problem for me, if you get the error again you just empty the water, but I didn't, I just close the water after each use, also I have a fuse just for the dishwasher I disconnect after each use, I won't spend money on this machine, will use like this until it dies and change it

@@0990-l7b the problem is there is a joint leak inside the machine, I don't think it's a big leak that's why if you just open the water when you use it, there is no time for leaking. My machine is 5 years more or less. This is just a plastic joint in bad state but you have to replace the whole part, it's not expensive and you can do it yourself. I prefer not to open the machine and just use it like this, I am not attached to it, when it's over I will change the machine, I think in a few years

There are other ways in which you can get and E-15. In my case, water comes down the overflow - the rectangular grey tube that connects from the bottom of the door down into the base of the cabinet at about 0:58 in the video. I have already replaced the water inlet valve and the float switch that actuates when the styrofoam float is raised. AND, the drain pump can only be shut off by flipping the breaker. There is more to E-15 than you describe.

Great vid, thanks! But no need for all the unscrewing. Take out 2 wood screws holding the unit into the cabinetry. Pull it out 12", and access the float from the left side (behind insulation)

Best video for this error code fix!! Brief concise and extremely informative. I would maybe just add a note to not unscrew the top screws which hold the control panel and emphasize just to remove the screws on the side of the door panel. This was my bad but thought I’d share in case others are too quick about removing all the screws and have the panel fall off with the front door. I also learned there is a loose connector with red wires hanging I plugged it in cause I thought it came out by accident but after an hour of trouble shooting I learned if you plug in that connector to the control panel the dishwasher will not power on ugh! So leave that loose connector unplugged

There are 3 red wires connected to a white connnector that just hangs loose inside the panel I happened to take that connector and plugged it into the control panel where there was an open slot then the washer would not power on but when I disconnected it it powered on

AWESOME VIDEO ! Exactly my problem. I would add that if you get the error, and then turn off the power, on my model, the display never came back on - it was completely dead. I started the get worried the mother board/display was hosed up. No worries, it comes back to life AFTER you dry up the water and the float resets. Thank you for your help !!!

@@codygoggin1097 Mine was blank initially after I dried the area where the float is. I had just changed the heat pump which went bad. I plugged it back in and nothing. So I unplugged it from the wall and plugged it in again and still nothing. Then I started pushing the power on and off button and the wash buttons and it turned on. I think I also held the reset button down for like 5 seconds. It's been working fine ever since.

My Bosch Dishwasher threw an E15 code. Upon inspection (pulled out from cabinet, folded up the sound deadening batting to look underneath, noticed the float (styrofoam disc in bottom center of base, which rises if water is present to trigger switch above it) was a bit disintegrated (meaning water had been working on it for a while - but I never had a leak externally). Ran a few express cycles and watched for leaks - eventually I noticed a dripping from between the the "sump" housing (the large central grey round plastic pump housing in the center of the bottom base attached to DW tub above). Was thinking of replacing the sump seal (but it looked like a bit of a pain) so I just tightened the four torx screws on the floor of the inner DW tub. Note: the two visible rearmost screws would tighten but one felt like it was almost stripped and wouldn't catch very strongly (as it's screwing into the plastic sump housing below - not a great design by Bosch). So I put some glue on the screw before putting it in - let it dry over night and tightened it up after 24 hours - it still wasn't a tight a screw down feeling as I would like but it seemed to do the trick (the righthmost screw seemed to grab and tighten well - the 2 frontmost screws were already tight as they could go.). This seems to have cured the leaking problem after running a few test cycles and looking for leaks - so all good for now. I may need to replace the seal in the future -or- drop some epoxy in the screw holes to get a stronger screw down tightness. Thanks for all the info. Oh, I replaced the float which was simple as the switch just pulls up with a tug and new foam float sets in place - unfortunately, this little piece of Styrofoam is way overpriced and was like $30 online (oh, well.).

Nice video. I was going to open my dishwasher as per your comments but then looked inside the tub and noticed my cycle wasn’t interrupted because a plate was blocking the second level spinning arm. I am not sure if this tripped the E15 code but I reset the unit (3 sec) and I turned the unit off and then on…the code disappeared and I ran the cycle again after removing the dish. No more code and unit has run smoothly. Maybe others might want to try this first. Btw Bosch units are great value….top notch for fair price. Thanks.👍

I cleaned my seals and filters, left the machine door open all night which dried out my machine without any unscrewing of anything. Machine worked perfectly the next morning with no error code

Thanks great tip. I did not have the star tools to remove the door. I knew I put green liquide soap so it was my fault it was not a leak. As a saw lot of foam on the floor. No need to open it or to click a reset button. Take out the dish washer tilt it to the left side 45 degree angle because the motherboard in on the right. The water will come out. it will reset it self. I even lost the red numbers lights. It came back it worked great. Unplug it first.

Well, I got the door off, the cover removed, the insulation safely pulled out only to finally discover that the filter at the bottom of the inside of the machine had not been cleaned out ever. So the old story goes, check the simplest things first. But hey, I know how to get under the hood of the Bosch now. Thanks Ken!

In my case the floater got stuck due to the loud snap that breaking door springs made. (everything was dry). I removed the sensor switch and floater, cleaned a bit and verified switch works OK. Then re-assembled and tadaa, it works again. What helped a lot was getting the front plate off. I already replaced the circulation pump on this baby for wich I had to take of the right side. But that didnt provide access to the floater and switch assembly. Thx, you helped me out with this video!

Just repaired mine with the same issue. I didn't have any parts leaking but instead a very gradual gasket seal leak causing liquid grease to pile up and set off the float switch. After cleaning the rubber seals and the water tray and styrofoam flat switch it works just like it always has. At least every month I clean the filter and the tray inside the dishwasher as well. Keep it clean and things will work and clean like when it was new.

@@paulb9769 I had a fair amount of piled up grease in this tray and on the styrofoam float switch. I took an old rag and wiped up the excess down in this area. I would try that if you haven’t yet.

Mine was slightly different. From underneath, I could see the water calcification residue around the top of the sump. And then saw the leak during the wash cycle. I had seen another video where someone just tighened the screws from inside the dishwasher (but mine were already tight). Rather than tear the thing apart; (from inside the dishwasher) I removed the two back screws that secured the upper level cleaning return. And then I loosened the two front sump screws 1/8 of an inch. I was able to push down the sump, leaving a 1/8 inch gap. After drying out the gap with a hairdryer; I put in some of that high quality GE Clear Silicon in the gap. Then I screwed everything down and let it dry overnight. Worked like a champ!!!!

I only get the E15 when it is severely cold. I sop up the water and it is good for a few days. Never have a problem unless the temp outside is below freezing. Any thoughts on this?

I had a leak from the joint between the plastic drain and metal case. So I put some silicone grease on the inside of the joint. It has stopped leaking ! It will wash away, so what can I do ?

Any guess what the problem would be on a brand new install? Faulty or clogged drain pipe maybe? (It was a professional install of a Thermador. No problem on the installer check load. Error code appeared on first load of dishes we washed.)

Since your comment was from several months ago, curious did you solve it? So many possibilities but I would suggest to tighten the screws that hold the mesh filter in case the gasket seal is too loose from the factory.

I think I have a different problem. I have a crystal dry model and I think there is a crack under that area of the dishwasher. More inspection needed, but I’m not liking the looks of this. P.S. if you can pull your dishwasher all the way out, you’ll have an easier time accessing the water tap basin. Just pull back the insulation and voila, there’s a huge gaping hole in the frame where you can reach in, no need to remove the front panels.
