I thought for sure that my problem was in my Beam Powerhead. I stumbled across your video and decided to give it a try with guarded optimism. While my handle was different than your on the exterior, the interior was virtually identical. It worked like a charm. My wife is sooooooo happy! Thanks for taking the time to make the video.

Wow this worked! The first time I had this issue, I paid to get it fixed. This just took me less than 5 minutes and it saved me a trip to the vacuum repair shop. Thank you very much for posting this!! Oh and yes, do make sure it’s unplugged. I forgot once and I got a good zap from the copper inside the head of the hose.

Thankyou! This gave me the confidence to open up the handle and inside the contacts were covered with caked dust. It was an easy job to clean the contact with an old toothbrush and fixed the o-ring to hopefully keep the dust out next time. All fixed in 5 minutes!

Thank you! Definitely did the trick. Just be careful when taking it apart as pieces do shift so it takes a bit of time to put back together. Solved my problem!

Worked like a charm 😀 then I noticed lower pressure coming from my main floor outlet and remedied that by using my garage vacuum on the outlet to suck out the blockage (not sure if you’ve got a video on that too or not😉). Thanks!

Great tip!!! I might have to do a video on that one when mine gets clogged. Have a great rest of the week.

If you have access to a shop vac, I believe the best approach to remove a possible central vac blockage is to open the aux inlet in the garage, then connect the shop vac at each inlet in the house thus pulling any material the reverse direction. Hope this helps.

yes. that would work! time to make another video :-). thanks again for the tip!

Well - I was super sceptical of this, but I tried it anyway. I opened up my wand and the contacts where flat and black due to caked on dirt/dust. I cleaned it up and repositioned the contacts. Putting it back together was harder than cleaning it, but I think I've resolved my "many years of putting up with it" problem!

Did this but it wasn’t our problem. The connectors on the handle and going into the power head just needed sprayed with Zep (something like WD40) to make it work nicely!

What side of the rubber gasket goes in? Does it matter?

it shouldn’t matter.

Thanks for the video. The materials inside the handle are so cheap and thin, so those of you who are trying this, be careful not to brake the connectors. This looks like intentionally flawed design.

My central vacuum keeps coming off and on by itself without any hose hooked into the outlets at all what could be the problem
@jaspalcheema513 жыл бұрын
My vacuum handle looks exactly the same. Either the suction works, or the motor runs, but not both simultaneously. That is, when the carpet cleaning motor is running, there's no suction. Any advice shall be much appreciated.
@DDIY-Guy3 жыл бұрын
It sounds like one the other connections points for the central vac is not completely shut. Check all of them and make sure the door flap doesn’t have anything jammed in them. If you have a garage connection....check that too. For your vacuum to have good suction, only one connection point can be open.
