Saw your recipe and tried it but with caster sugar (didn’t have time to powder it). 5*, thank you. It is crumbly and melt in the mouth. Wonderful. My guests tonight are German and they make hundreds of ‘cookies’ at Christmas to give to neighbours. They helped me do it last year, but this year I will give your/our butter shortbread. Might even pop the recipe in the gift bag. ❤

Hi there, about 1/4 inch or so. There really is no rule though, if you want thicker cookies, you can roll them out thicker.
