So I just finished a paint-along, painting a 3D print of this up to a level I consider finished (I skipped some of the late highlights, particularly since my model doesn't have as much hair/fur as the official one does), and I'm super pleased with the end product. I can definitely safely say that this is a tutorial well worth recommending. For the skin, I used a mix of Apothecary White and Frostheart since I'd misplaced my Gryph-Charger Grey, only to find it later after I'd finished. 🤦♂ But I'm super glad with how the light-blue coloring turned out.

Finally a FEC tutorial that doesn't make them green! Think I might also use this on my Vargheists too, need to strip them first

such a cool model and nicely painted, if you want a older looking bone / disgusting teeth you could use little snakebite leather at the base of the bones/teeth and blend it towards the end after skeleton horde, makes it darker / grungier

As someone who paints sporadically your videos are enjoyable to me even when I'm not actively painting. Your videos are super accessible and informative. Is there any chance you might paint up the forthcoming GW clear plastic LotR King of tne dead?

I'm a bit late, but do you have a video or some advice for how you did the basing materials (like those little tufts of grass and whatnot)?
@ThePaintingCoach10 ай бұрын
This is a simple base ready mix from geek gaming scenics - you put pga on the base, and then dip it in the bag and you get a nice mixture that gives you the effect - really simple!

Thanks for the video. I would like to ask. How to choose an analogue of GW paint in other systems.? I have no painting experience and the range of GW paints in my city is small. For example Vallejo or AK

Personal question. Are you more of a fantasy or 40k guy...or more specifically...do you find AOS models in general or 40k brings you more enjoyment from a painting/lore/ game play ect..?
@ThePaintingCoach11 ай бұрын
40K I think - although the AOS models are fantastic and very armospheric!

So when you do yours celestial gray as your first coat. Are you actually dry brushing it or are you doing it when the paint's still wet??
@ThePaintingCoach Жыл бұрын
It's a very heavy drybrush - and because I am using a soft brush, it retains some of the moisture which helps it spread
@benrichardson5662 Жыл бұрын
The Varghulf badly needed a new model. It was a nice sculpt but finecast is terrible. The new FEC range looks amazing and I hope this is a foretaste of glow ups for other armies in the future. Very nice work. If I ever pick up some FEC I'll definitely consider this paint scheme.

I actually prefer the flesh with just volupus pink,, it feels more like exposed muscle and sinew which feels more gross
