This one is Fushimi Park but yes, Quetico is awesome paddling to the Tower there also, or anywhere for that matter. Thanks!

looks like a well established trail and area for sure
@OutdoorRob23 күн бұрын
They up keep the trail...to a certain point it seems. Easy walking anyway, the way I like it LOL! Thanks!

What a day in the canoe, I'd take it over a walk in the woods on a hot day LOL, and you did get a hike anyways LOL. Needs a chainsaw to get some of those logs out of the trail. I bet the view from the tower would have been awesome, I wouldn't climb it either LOL

Hello from Echo Bay! I’ve visited 3 fire towers in this area, not sure how many are left standing. That one was in pretty good shape. Enjoyed watching.
@OutdoorRob23 күн бұрын
Cool! Thanks Dave! I've been to around 26 to 30. There's quite a few still standing, some you can't go to unless you're special...no trespassing and gated, so I don't count those. I keep having to drive further and further to find new ones, wanna get as many recorded before they tear them all down.

Boy that fire tower sure was lightly made. I would guess that was why it had the guy wires attached. The fire towers I have seen were all made with much heavier angle iron.
@OutdoorRob23 күн бұрын
Ya, the 1920's and 30' were light gauge, most of the 40's were changed to heavier steel and the 50's and 60's were the heavier gauge steel. Those old ones are pretty flimsy. Thanks Paul!

Hey Rob! Great content, ive been a long time viewer. I spend a lot of time in northern ontario myself, portaging, camping, etc. Was curious are u guys wearing snake gators? And if so rattlesnakes i guess? Ive only ever seen one but am more scared of them than a bear.
@OutdoorRob6 сағат бұрын
Just regular gators keeping the insects out. No Rattler's up here fortunately. Thanks for the support!

That's a cool structure. The tower I mean . Who do you think would have manufactured everything? Thank you, For braving the mosquitoes to get the video and pictures.
@OutdoorRob24 күн бұрын
Lands and Forest Ontario built the Cupola, not sure who in particular made the steel but Lands and Forest would've assembled the Tower on site piece by piece. Thanks Marc!
@kractass24 күн бұрын
Very cool! Do you have any idea how many fire towers you have visited?
@OutdoorRob23 күн бұрын
Thanks! Probably between 26 and 30 now. I didn't video them all so I've lost track of the number. Just visited 5 last week, so have some more Tower videos.
@kractass23 күн бұрын

Double hole outhouse….huh, head scratcher. His n hers? Or for winter when a frozen brown stalagmite emerges and you switch up holes? To which, who the heck is watching for fires in winter. Of course underground winter fires r a thing. Hmmm 🤔
@OutdoorRob18 күн бұрын
LOL! We used to Have a double holed outhouse at our cottage, put there before we bought it, so I have really have no idea unless two people really gotta go at the same time LOL! Thanks Seanagon!
