wow this is awesome. i followed some other top recommened tutorials and all did this weird volumetric thing with it made it really pain in the ass to animate(maybe cause im a noob). this helped a lot. this needs more views.

Also on the emission or Transparent BSDF node.. if you have an image you wanna add to the material you can connect it there. I just tried it and it works like a charm. More solid and less ghostly if you duplicate and connect the Image node to both of them.

For those who dont know! if you want your hologram to be horizontal but it shows vertical just change the scale axis in the mapping node, for example mines was z so i have to set x and y to 0 and z to 1 :)

Are you sure you have a transparent shader and not a translucent one! - also make sure your alpha is set to blend mode :-)

Thanks for commenting this! Couldn't get it to work and then realized that was because my model was all 90 deg edges. Rounded off my edges and now it's working better :) Still better for model with no hard edges though
