if you're running hellfire you could also precast flamewalk then hellfire in the middle, a little riskier to pull off but kills the bats 100%

You can also just place a hydra in front of the hunt and then chill out instead of stressing and running

Doesn`t work with shit gear. I`d advice to use halberd on budget(very cheap + high damage in 1 swing) and just hellfire skull bats and then do 1 missed swing with halberd and hit bats with 2nd swing, u will kill at least 2 out of 3 bats this way then dodge or phantomise last bat attack and finish it off after. That seemed to work quite well on budget kit, at least much better and reliable then kris, plus halberd is actually pretty good against all PVE and has quite a punch.

you dont necessarily have to but it helps you stay in the air longer, betteres ur chances of dodging his earthquake slam attack and his orb attack
