Kaitlyn Pierce has a few great tutorials on how to reduce bubbles in resin. Your choice of resin makes a big difference. The molds shown here are not compatible with a pressure pot I don't think, but you still get some very decent results!

Questions from a newbie with this set: 1. The side with the lid always has a dip in it. How do you avoid that? 2. My sets have come out sticky after the curing time, is this also avoidable because I can’t seem to set them down anywhere without having an issue pulling them back off?

Just some advice. 1. You don't have to fully paint the dice. Just mix a slight amount of water with the paint to thin it slightly and dab the paint over the numbers and wipe away with your fingers or cloth. That leaves the paint just in the numbers and you waste a lot less paint and not make such a huge mess, if there is any traces of paint left over a little bit of alcohol once it all dries will clean it up. 2. I would highly recommend avoiding these molds. There's a shady history with them. Long story short someone branding themselves as 'Dispel Dice' ran a kickstarter for 'hand made dice' that had this exact look. The hand made part was a lie, they actually outsourced their dice to a china company IceDice and than tried to scam them by refusing to pay for over 21k sets of dice. Backers of the kickstarter never got their products, and due to the non payment and IceDice coming forward this whole thing came to light. 'Dispel Dice' is now trying to rebrand under a new name to try and sweep under the rug of them pretty much scamming a bunch of people. IceDice cut their loses by selling off their remaining supply of dice they still had as well as the molds that you are using (the whole set can be gotten for 91 cents), that are actually meant to be placed in a machine that compress's UV resin and the materials inside thus why they can be so hard to use otherwise. Yes sadly, due to the molds cheep price, they have popped up in a lot of pricy kits, but just due to their history and the scam behind them, they are very frowned on in the dice making community, and even if you didn't show the molds, the number style is very distinctive of this set. Just look up 'Dispel Dice scam' and you get a long story, and seeing how IceDice has recipes, photos and other prof of their side, where Dispel Dice has none, paints a big picture. The mods are 'okay' for self use, but even then it is iffy. I started with them myself and even found a means to make them work, but once I stumbled on the story behind them I just... yeah... no. I rather not show a product that is linked to a scam and a funded kickstater that also scammed everyone who backed it.

I don't see what dice history has to do with this. Most people don't care about the background of the material of their dice as long as they are pretty and don't break when they roll or are cursed. 🤷
@TAiiNE
@TAiiNE 2 жыл бұрын
@@BlazeDupree1525 Well I don't know about you... but most people DO care when they are scammed out of 100's from a Kickstarter that was a lie from the get-go, having the people run off with the money, leaving one company out of their own profit, and having to make due selling off what they have and then some to make up for it. On top of knowing the people who ran this scam is still out there recently returning under another's branding, AND is still using the same design meaning they have the ground to sue for copyright as the design of the font is their own. Yes that is a thing, even Hextex the more common basic dice manufacturer out there has gone afer people for making molds and using their dice as base for profit.
