For anyone wondering I did this with the 6oz box of jello and 2 packs of gelatin and 1 1/2 cup of water on the stove and it make 470ml of liquid so if you have mini bears like me they are 1ml each then you will either have to buy 2 packs of the gummy molds to get 400 gummies or just make have a box of you have the 6oz box for the mini bears

I used a recipe I found for "Knox blocks" which calls for 3-3oz. packages of Jello, 4 of unflavored gelatin, and 4 cups of water. This is the same as the recipe for Jello gigglers. I wanted to be sure so I used one extra UG. I used Cherry flavored Jello. I substituted 1/2 cup concentrated cranberry juice and 1/2 cup concord grape juice for the last cup of water. It came out perfect in consistency and the flavor is delicious. Better than I expected!!! Thanks for your video!!!:)

@@BakeLikeAPro order it from Amazon. You dissolve 1 part to 2 parts water then when you are ready to mix it in your jello mixture I added 1 tsp. So I added 1 tsp to your recipe here. It helps to preserve the gummies. You can use it in many recipes. It is best known for use in beer and wine. I might add that it does not affect the taste

Hi there. Way easier than what I've gone through, making gummies from scratch with bone broth, juice and powdered gelatin. Mine might be healthier (I do it for the extra protein, not for the flavor so much) but yours guarantees a sweet taste, every batch. BTW: I bought a 100cc disposable syringe on Amazon, which makes it easy to fill my molds. I use a mold that's shaped like a gum drop when they pop out (flat on the bottom) and each gummy holds 5cc (1 tsp). Each mold holds 24 gummies, and I make a batch that fills 4 molds. Around 2 cups of liquid will fill 4 molds. (I only have 2 molds, so after one batch sets, I pop them out, place them in a glass jar, and use the remaining cup of liquid for 2 more molds.) If you don't use jello, don't be surprised that the flavor will be kind of weak. Use plenty of sweetener so they'll at least be sweet if not flavorful. Juice isn't quite concentrated enough to satisfy like jello does. Good luck!

Im going to try cinnamon with unflavored jello...do these melt at room temp like jello would (sort of)?
@BakeLikeAPro Жыл бұрын
Hi Larry, they do not melt, but will become sticky to the touch. Best way I've found is to keep them in the fridge. You can also do a great trick candy makers use, and that's corn starch that you use for baking ( it's a white powder ) Candy makers will actually use this as molds for candy. They imprint the cornstarch they have put into large squares which is patted down until firm, then press their master mold into the cornstarch and then pour the candy. Anyway, same thing, you can coat them with that if you wish. A tiny bit. Anything else would melt ( like powdered sugar ) I hope this helps and thanks for watching ! That cinnamon is an interesting touch, kind of reminds me of those tiny red hearts ( candy) they sell around Valentine's Day. I love those. Thanks so much for watching ! 😊

Hi Thắm Trần 🙂 There are 2 1/2 Teaspoons of gelatin in a box of Jell-O. So you don't have any problems, I would suggest you double the amount of gelatin you see in my video. 1 Tablespoon is approx. 10 grams ( if you are weighing your gelatin ) so double it to 20 grams. IF you are measuring by Tablespoons, use 2 Tablespoons. Please reply to me if I wasn't 100% clear with my help and I'll try again. Thanks so much for watching !

Not a big fan of candy in general but its cool to understand all it takes is how you make jello with one addition ingrediant the gelatin to make gummy based candy. The shapes and molds can be endless and as big /small as you want or artistic as you want. Or one can sprinkle flour mixed with sugar on top of the gummy bears to have the sugar coating look

Loved it! How long does the liquid at the jar stays liquid, my mold is a bit small. Thank yoy

I can't say exactly how long, but it will not solidify quickly. It takes a long time. Do not stand and wait for it to harden

I can't find this type of good looking gummy bear molds. I can't order to my country from amazon cause its not supported. I cant find it on aliexpress aswell... I also dont have corn syrup in my country and they candy breaks easily from any mold i have. where did you find your mold?
@BakeLikeAPro2 жыл бұрын
I purchased this mold from a company that no longer exists, but they are available on Amazon. That is surprising that Amazon doesn't deliver to your country. Hopefully in the future they will include your country to make purchasing online much easier.

Thank you for sharing! I am trying this recipe today. How do you keep them?
@BakeLikeAPro4 жыл бұрын
Hello there, I keep them in the fridge if the kitchen is too warm. Keeping them in the fridge will keep them more firm. If you have a tiny bit of parchment paper, that's an excellent way to keep them in a little container, as they don't stick. Thank you for watching my video 👍😊 I'm glad you enjoyed it ! Cold water didnt worked but when i tried it with boiling water it clumped up but i kept mixing and got rid of the clumps and it firmed up pretty nicely
@BakeLikeAPro8 жыл бұрын
+BudgetBuild When working with gelatin, you must always add it to a cold liquid first. This is called "blooming" your gelatin. Do not dump it in all at once so that it clumps up... pour slowly so that it dispurses over the volume of liquid. It will spread out all over the surface. Let it stand..... until it looks dissolved. 5 to 10 minutes. It is at that point you must start to introduce heat into the gelatin.

I see alot of recipes asking for cornstarch. Is that recommended for this recipe or does the gummies not stick too much after being made?
@BakeLikeAPro2 жыл бұрын
You can use cornstarch to keep them separated, it's a good option. Professional candy makes use cornstarch molds all the time to make candy, it's an awesome thing to see done. Thanks so much for watching ! 😊

Hello. I can't wait to make these this weekend with my granddaughter and her friend. silly question but if I'm using 170gram box of jello, do i double the ingredients so 11/2 cup of water and 2 tablespoons of gelatin? each package of gelatin is 1.8 grams, 1/4 of the envelope so how much would I use? Thanks so much and hope to hear from you before sunday!
@BakeLikeAPro Жыл бұрын
Hi Naomi 🙂 I had to go back to the recipe to see what the size of Jell-O I was using, so mine was 85 grams, close enough to 1/2 of what yours was. I would maybe use about 1 cup of water total ( maximum ) - the amount of gelatin inside those packets of Jell-O is really negligible, it's the gelatin that we add is what is what really binds everything together. If you want to keep everything the same as in my video, you will want to double - everything. So water would be doubled, gelatin would be doubled also.... this would keep the ratios the same. This of course is going to give you a lot more end-product, so keep that in mind. Now if you think you want more firm gummy bears, you can reduce the water a little bit so you aren't using 2x the total amount. If I just made things more confusing, please ask me something else and I'll try to explain. So yeah, bottom line, your Jell-O box is basically double mine, and if you use the SAME water I did, then yup you must double your water, and double that gelatin, that will give you what you see in my video. If you want them a bit more firm, don't use as much water... maybe just less than double.... do NOT use more water ! they won't turn out if you do.

@@BakeLikeAPro thank you so much for answering me! I got it, I’ll use a little less than double on the water and a little less then 2 tablespoons of gelatin. Thank you again.

@naomibryan1443 Жыл бұрын
@@BakeLikeAPro well, these gummies did not turn out like gummies at all. They were more like a Jell-O.Bear then a gummy bear. I might have used too much gelatin, so I’ll try it again using the same quantity of ingredients that you did. Thank you for taking the time to answer.

If you have trouble pouring the mixture from the cup to the molds, use a baster to fill the molds
