I wash my daughters hair in twists or braids after I have detangled it with the leave in conditioner. Washing her hair in the twists or braids helps to keep her hair tangle free. Please let me know do you have any questions. Thanks for watching!
@ladyiverson054 жыл бұрын
When you wash it in the twist does it get fully cleaned.. I have 3 girls (12,10,7) they have been natural all their life but now it seems hard to manage.. I always detangle. Before washing the day before. I've never seen this done so I want to know how good does the hair in the twist get clean
@CammyjOfficial4 жыл бұрын
Hi 🙋🏾♀️. Yes, her hair gets clean while I wash it on the twists. I start with the shampoo at her scalp and then run the shampoo down the actual twist itself for each one. As you run the shampoo down the twist you will see the residue clear out of the hair as well. You just repeat the process until no more residue comes from the twist. Thank you for watching.

Oh that little voice 😍 My 4 year old has a lot of hair but also a lot of breakage. I’m just trying to get a good routine with her. She doesn’t want me touching her hair at all. Her ends a very uneven at this point. Do you recommend a trim? Have you ever trimmed your daughter’s hair? What is the best way to trim 4b/4c hair wet, dry or in twist?
@CammyjOfficial Жыл бұрын
Hello 👋🏾! She definitely wanted to her her little voice in the video LOL! My daughter HATES getting her hair done. I recommend trimming the ends if you see that they are damaged. I have trimmed her hair, just a dusting of any ends that looked scraggly. If your child needs a major trim I suggest taking her to a stylist to get totally evened out. I would trim hair in a stretched state when dry like twists, that’s worked best for me. What’s your current routine with her hair now? Does she not like the comb going through her hair? Is Detangling the issue?
@KDSheartD87 Жыл бұрын
@@CammyjOfficial just saying the word hair is an issue 😂 we really don’t have a true routine. Detangling is really a problem. It’s curly but very small curls and it gets tangled so bad. The styles are so tangled after a few days. I get overwhelmed with it sometimes.
@CammyjOfficial Жыл бұрын
I understand!! A good detangler should really help. I’d recommend trying aunt Jackie’s knot on my watch dentangler. It’s affordable and works. Use it after you shampoo and conditioner the hair. Detangle in medium sections. You can use your fingers or a wide tooth comb and then smooth the hair out with a brush. Do you wash it in sections? That could help with reducing the tangling as well. What styles does your child typically wear?

Can I ask why you don’t use a conditioner after shampoo? Also do you ever deep condition your daughters hair? If so how often? Thank you! x
@CammyjOfficial3 жыл бұрын
Hello! If I am going to use a good leave in conditioner in her hair then sometimes I skip that step. I do not skip that step often though. Her hair typically gets washed with shampoo, then conditioned then I follow-up with a leave-in. I do deep condition her hair, I do so every 1-2 months all depending on how her hair is feeling. Here is a video of my daughter's deep condition process: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZepio13na2hhM0 Thank you for watching and commenting!

What do you use in baby girls hair to get it to grow so long mama
@CammyjOfficial3 жыл бұрын
Hello 👋🏾! I use water based leave in conditioners, and a Detangling shampoo and conditioner. I am going to do an entire video about her hair routine from top to bottom that will include all styling tools and hair products plus her entire hair regime.
@claudeclawsonne4510 Жыл бұрын
So is wetting your hair a unique step exclusive to black hair? Because as a person with European hair I was always told not to detangle when wet, that my hair would stretch and snap and be more fragile when wet. Is that because of my kind of hair or is that advice out of date for everyone?
@CammyjOfficial Жыл бұрын
Hello 👋🏾. Yes. Black hair experiences more breakage is detangled dry in a curly state. Adding water to curly hair helps detangle better. This is specific to afro and curly type hair textures. Thank you for watching and commenting!

Hi! I really enjoyed your video! Thank you so much for your willingness to share your daughter’s hair routine. I have 2 questions: 1. How often do you recommend washing her hair? My daughter is 3 so I’m trying to find a routine I can stick to. 2. How long should I wait to see if the product is working (for length retention)? I don’t want to be quick to try new products without giving the current ones I purchase a fair chance
@CammyjOfficial2 жыл бұрын
Hello Ashli!!! I wash her hair once every two weeks in the cold months and then once every 7-10 days in the summer depending on activity and activity level that day (like for example if we go to the beach or spend a long time outside then her hair would be washed the 7 day rule). I honestly would say give a product about 30ish days if you believe it’s good quality and had the components you’re looking for , but you should know almost immediately if you like a product based on how your child’s hair feels and looks when you put it in it. What products do you use in your child’s hair right now? Thank you so much for watching and commenting!

@@CammyjOfficial thank you so much for your prompt response! Girl I’m so on trial and error with my daughter’s hair it’s ridiculous lol. Right now I’ve been using As I Am conditioner and cantu leave-in conditioner. I use Mielle’s rice water moisturizing milk sometimes. As for oils, I put together a blend of coconut, wild growth and rosemary. I feel like I’m all over the place tbh. Not even sure if she needs all of that in her hair.
@CammyjOfficial2 жыл бұрын
You’re welcome! I always try my nest to respond to every comment. It’s all trial and error, but be encouraged cause you will find what you like for her hair in time. I recommend Camille rose coconut it leave in cause it’s so light weight and has good slip to help detangle, a more affordable option is the aunt Jackie’s leave in conditioner (green bottle) sold at target and Walmart as well. I don’t like the rice water because rice water personally makes my hair feel hard and dry mostly.

For hair oils I’d say go for some light grapeseed oil. It’s blends into hair beautifully and is super inexpensive. I get one form GNC but they sell the pure cold pressed grapeseed oil everywhere for the most part

Did you use any bobbles when you plaited? I find my daughters edges are coming away cause I use bobbles I've started to use silk crunches and trying not to pull it too tight x
@CammyjOfficial3 жыл бұрын
Hello 👋🏾! I do not use any bobbles in my daughters hair because the tension from those often leads to breakage. I braid her hair down as is and then add cute hair clips and other accessories. Silk scunchy’s are good. Honestly, as long as whatever you put in the hair isn’t causing tension then it should be fine really.

Please help, I'm 11 who wants to start doing their hair and I don't have a spray bottle, what should I do
@CammyjOfficial3 жыл бұрын
Hello 👋🏾! You can always put water in a cup and add water slowly to your hair instead of using a spray bottle. You can also purchase a quality spray bottle at the dollar store as well. I hope this helps! Thank you for watching and commenting!

Hi! Just stumbling across this channel and your video, thank you so much for sharing these tips I believe they'll make a world of difference when doing my two daughters hair. One question, I'm curious what happens after this step, does she then wear a braid out? If so, how long does that usually last and do you have other videos on maintaining that style? Thanks again!
