There is nothing more delicious than a home made baked lasagna! You will be surprised to learn how easy is it to make perfect lasagna, maybe the most classic Italian dinner. This is made with no-boil lasagne noodles, which make it even easier to prepare! We used only mozzarella cheese in this recipe, but if you wish you can add more flavor by dusting some shredded Parmesan on the top of it. Perfect option for those who are looking for a perfect Italian dish for dinner! Now time to learn how to make lasagna. :))
Directions for the filling
Transfer the oil into the pot Add the minced onions When cooks, add the ground beef When it's almost brown add the grated carrot Cook 10 more minutes with the lid on Stir in the grated tomatoes, Tomato paste, black pepper and salt Add ½ cup of hot water Let it boil for 5 minutes, and leave for chill Directions for the Béchamel Sauce Transfer the butter into the pot Add in the flour Gradually stir in the milk Keep stirring, let it boil for 5 minutes Season with black pepper and salt Turn the heat off and let it chill Grease the tray Spread a scoop of béchamel sauce all over the tray Bake for approx. 25 minutes on 200C (400F) pre-heated oven (with fan turned on)
Ingredients for lasagne recipe
For the Béchamel Sauce
3 tbs. flour
3 cups milk
50 g (1/2 stick) butter
1 tsp. Salt
A pinch of black pepper
For the Lasagna
170 g (10 pieces) no-boil lasagna noodles
100 g (3.5 oz) shredded mozzarella
300 g (10 oz) ground beef
1 carrot (grated)
2 tomatoes (grated)
1 onion (minced)
1 tbs. tomato paste
2 tsp. Salt
A pinch of black pepper
4 tbs. olive oil

I tried adding bechamel sauce to my lasagna last night and it was a success. It's hard to describe how the bechamel sauce mixes with the bolognese sauce. It makes for a perfect lasagna. I'm always going to do add bechamel sauce to my lasagnas from now on :)

I haven't tried it, but I think that carrot in the ground beef is brilliant! Adds dietary fiber, vitamins, and sweetness without really changing the texture of the beef. So clever.

Had something quite similar at South Coast Plaza years ago. This is definitely a very good lasagna! They would top with a ladle of marinara or meat sauce and grated parm/reggiano

If you find the top of the lasagne burns too quickly in the oven, place a sheet of foil over the top until the sides start to cook, then remove it to bake the top again.

I have seen different recipes and almost nobody puts bechamel sauce on the lasagna, however, I have added it in some times as other ingredient and it has given very good taste and smoothness. People from different countries like food from other cultures and I don't see nothing wrong with that. International cuisine is a good way to join people and cultures. Thanks for post your recipe.

Marye that’s probably because you’ve watched the italoamerican version of lasagna which consist of ricotta. But the authentic Italian Lasagna is made with bechamel sauce!!

Actually lasagna is good even without bechamel, but you have to make more of a good Bolognese sauce to replace the bechamel

I'm Italian and I have to admit that the variant represented in the video (because the sauce does not perfectly respect the traditional ragù, which has many regional variations also in Italy), it seems in general really good.

Always brown your meat first before adding the onion. Doing the opposite will cause you meat to never brown. It will just steam in the moisture of the onions.

I ALWAYS brown my onions and/or bell pepper while browning my meat and it browns perfectly every time...it does not steam. Not once in my 30 years of cooking has my meat steamed because I browned my meat at the same time as the onions. EVER. Not saying it doesn't happen just saying I've never experienced it. And I'm sure if it happens the water will evaporate and the meat will eventually brown.

Actually I always do onions first then meat and THEN I cover it with flour and flatten it out as pancake letting it brown on either side.

this is FAB. I add a touch af fresh grated nutmeg to béchamel. Just a touch! (my swiss mom in laws secret) the amount of meat to sauce is key. I was alway too haevy on the meat side and separated the béchamel for the meat. Your way ROCKS. THANKS!!!!

Metsada007 hi there I make lasagna with meat sauce and béchamel, but i always separated them; a layer of meat then a layer of béchamel. By mixing the two and keeping them on the light side it really improved the overall texture and feel in the mouth. Somehow lighter and more enjoyable flavor wise. Sorry to take so long to answer. Can you use a lb. of regular uncooked lasagna & add 30 ounces of cold water & extend the cooking time by 15 minutes?

Try making the sauce a bit more watery, adding stock. It will help the pasta to cook.

@@ayeshachand6942 Guessing you used the kinda pasta that needs to be parboiled beforehand. Use brand Barilla - cooks from scratch in 15 - 20 mins (gas mark 6 or 7 (200 / 220C) with purrfect results each 'n every time (or so the cats say:).

Good evening ETR:) I made my lasagna as i followed your steps. It was delicious, but i think it was lacking tomatoes. If i put more tomatoes wont it be sour?

I too found this recipe lacking the tomatoes and garlic normally used in Italian cooking. I use several cloves of minced garlic with the onions. As for tomatoes I add more tomatoes and about half to one teaspoon of sugar to the sauce to counteract acidity.

my friends if you are going to make lasagna and you use pre-cooked pasta , you will never never never get a real taste of lasagna i have been cooking in a italian restaurant for 35 yrs with the best chefs you could ever imagine do not give them pre-cooked pasta

I like to chop the gratted carrot so it’s even finer. Good way of getting kids to eat veges without knowing. I also add grated+chopped zuchninni
