I used the load cell kit for round about 4 months now. I used them for like 5-8 hours everyday. After all those hours racing with the load cell kit I used my old pedals without the kit and I realized that I dont want to race without this kit anymore. After installing the load cell kit and calibrate the pedals like shown on the tutorial for it (close the eyes, dont look at the 100% graphs and push the brake pedal as strong as you think 100% should be) I started my sim racing game of choice for the last few months - ACC! It took my only like 5 Minutes of practice to getting used to the load cell kit at all. After that I felt like braking felt more natural - like in a real car. Furthermore I have to say that you wont be a pro only because of the load cell kit. BUT your immersion is way better AND your overall braking consistency will improve the handling and feeling for your car and will result in an average better lap times. Long Story short: My lap times consistency improved, the feeling for my own car improved AND overall my lap times on all tracks in Assetto Corsa Competizione are faster than without using a load cell. 10/10 recommendation of buying the load cell kit.

i bought the kit too, installed it by usin the guide. The pedal readings are not great for me, it's basically jumping up and down by about 1-5 increments even though the pedal is in one position. Re-calibrateed the damn thing far too many times, even tried the ''dirty hack'' and no luck. Seems like I got a broken load cell..

The installation was easy. It works like a charm. At first my brake pedal made a squieky noise and I was annoyed about it. Gave it a try anyways and after 4 hours of driving the noise was gone. I tried some bought "load cell pedals" over at my friends house and they are exactly the same but way more expensive. My trail braking is much smoother and the overall feeling while braking is more natural. Like in my real car. Estimates time of usage is round about 4 hours per day. More on the weekends. Great video! I wish it covered a little bit more technical details as well (like what is the minimum and maximum forces that the sensor is rated for), but it also raised some points that I didn't really think before how the mod kit turns SRP-Lites into a a very accessible platform for further mods with 3rd party elastomers and springs. I had been in touch with Alex on reddit before, and he seems like a very enthusiastic and friendly guy. My mind was pretty much made up about purchasing the mod kit, but your video definitely reaffirmed my decision and pushed me over the edge towards placing the order. Can't wait to receive it soon!

@RolandsSh Thanks for the comment, you will be very happy with it! In terms of forces, thats a fair point and to answer the question: as light as you want will register (some people add a deadzone for resting your foot), and as heavy as you will want to push. Thats the cool thing about a loadcell, its really just down to you to set min max in the software!

I am using the loadcell mod with the brake mod and SRP accessory kit. Works well, but haven't received a stand yet to give an honest review. It is possible to use those pedals on the floor against something, but need to give them a little angle so the pedal's plate doesn't raise - I am using the pedals against a sofa (+ created a slight angle from the cardboards received from Moza), however I can make the sofa slide if using too much force. It works, but definitely takes time to get used with such a volatile setup, better to immobilize those pedals. Anyway, SRP accessory kit can be used for additional stiffness.
@MichaelSmithRaces6 ай бұрын
@krizz0rr yeah you certainly need to mount the pedals as you make them stiffer! A rig gets to be vital at a certain point, and I'm lucky to have a dedicated space!
@alexlupascu36056 ай бұрын
Hi K, you definitely need a stand to use loadcells I'm sure I didn't skip this aspect when we spoke - you need to be able to consistently apply force on the sensor so a sliding pedalbase will negate the benefits. Please use a sturdy setup even if you have to make it out of wood. My rig is 4040 aluminium profiles and you can get a similar setup for less than 300euros shipped.

It looks like you have the beefy pedal plate. I have the prime lite with this new pedal plate and i was wondering if you have yours installed normal or upside down? I have the rs12 seat which is totally flat. Initially i had the pedal deck installed normally but it felt too high in relation to the seat. So i flipped it, but now it feels too low. The main issue is i have the asetek forte pedals which are very upright. Like 90 degrees straight up, so it has all been a bit uncomfortable. Just curious how you mounted your pedal deck on your rig? Your prime lite review was very informative. Thanks 😊
@MichaelSmithRaces6 ай бұрын
@diddly3000 yes I have the pedal plate flat. I pushed it down as far as I could, when I measured it was 17.5CM from the floor. I use VRS pedals which are vertical. If you have not yet seen I have a video on the trak racer universal seat mount, which will allow you to tilt the RS12 here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oojbZWlrerKbaNU and in my RS12 seat review I also mention it. See my bucket seat video and you will see that I'm really glad I upgraded to the Sparco seat though, and I would get that with bucket seat brackets personally then you will have the right tilt and a solid seat! Hope that helped, email me if you want to talk more :)

Can you explain how you calibrated it? I see videos of pit house with an extra brake setting(brake force factor, but I don't have it), but with the stiffer bump stop and the stiffer spring, the very little travel is making trail braking difficult, as just the tiniest input results in quite a bit of braking force. I imagine I'll get used to it, but I'm not sure if I'm just doing something wrong lol. Great video, btw.
@MichaelSmithRaces3 ай бұрын
@ihavealife002 yeah there are two parts, firstly do the actual calibration so you press start calibration, then press the pedal to the max. After that you can hit the pedal as hard as you want, and see where it shows up on the graph and adjust the graph to match what you want. If you did what I did and replaced the damper rubber with the plastic block it will be very short and hard, but in that case you just treat the hard part as the start then press as hard as you want. This is one major difference with a loadcell vs potentiometer as its HOW HARD YOU PRESS rather than how far you move the pedal that you want to program in!

That's the piece that unbolts from the bottom plate of the performance kit. It's worth a try! you might like a pedal with less travel and don't even know it. Michael's elastomer is way too soft and offers little 'dynamic range'. Mine was the harder version PU but I found Michael's hack surprizingly precise (I do have a rubber piece inside the red spring however)

@@andysonofbob2599 It's a piece of a rubber flexible tubing I had lying around that has the exterior diameter exactly the same as the interiour diameter of the red spring so it slides right in - I cut that to 30mm and that's it. the interior diameter of the hose is 8mm I think so does not touch the center rod.
@andysonofbob25996 ай бұрын
@@alexlupascu3605 Ahh. Did you say you used the rubber slice to soften the hardness of the spring to plastic connection? If so, I guess anything rubbery will do? They're not a perfect fit but just about, I might cut one up and use that as a rubber washer?
@alexlupascu36056 ай бұрын
@@andysonofbob2599 Not exactly - the spring still sits on the plastic piece that connects it to the elastomer. What I did is insert that rubber inside the spring so the spring never gets fully compressed but feels more "hydraulic" as it's harder and harder as you press since the rubber has nowhere to go

I won't advise anyone to buy Moza things ever, they did not even try to RMA my broken R5 brake pedal correctly. It took them from April 30th to July 11th, 2024 to get me a working brake pedal again, and you know that the issue is a persistent issue/reoccurring error (in all their brake pedal models) they should have already fixed for all users. And if you are one of the lucky ones who had a good RMA service, think about those who have been left with next to no service from Moza (China)or their intermediaries (Rseat France/Germany (in my case the intermediary of Hardware Experts, the Netherlands)))and their retailers (in my case: Hardware experts, Lelystad, the Netherlands( Bram Nijs & Jorgo Rinu)). Never buy their products if you want to play it safe. This video proves this brake pedal circuitry is no rocket science by any means

@petermaardananders6803 thanks for sharing your experience. I had great support from Moza via gtomega here in the UK when I first got my bundle, but as you say its totally different depending on distributor / going via china etc! I've got very robust kit now that I hope will last me a lifetime!
