Ryan, as someone who does sim race on gt7, I highly highly highly recommend using abs set to weak at a minimum. PD did not do brake physics properly and you cannot trail brake with abs off. Weak works best for gr3/4 cars and default works best for road cars. I'd also recommend not wasting more money on those pedals and get proper load cell pedals. You can use an adapter and get the pro pedals to work with your g29. It will be the best money you spend for this and allows for the creation of muscle memory which translates better to real world (have spent years doing track days, auto x and rally x).

Ryan I am a life long IRL racer and 15 year sim racer. I typically will try to steer people who want to get into sim racing seriously, away from the cheaper Logitech stuff as, at the end of the day, they are toys, not "tools" per say. But i also do realize and have the understanding for those that not everyone is in the position to afford the high end gear. I want to say, you did an OUTSTANDING job on this video. Please do not take offense, but having never heard of you or seen your channels until this video came up in my recommend, I was HIGHLY skeptical going in thinking "ok, this clown is fixing to tell all these new people out here to go spend what a high end wheel and pedal setup would cost, just to upgrade their TOY. But after reviewing all the products and prices you used, I promise you this, I will be referring EVERYONE in the forums that is on a budget, to this video. Very well done man, you earned a sub on both of my YT channels! Have a wonderful day man,

I was never a race games guy. Tried Forza 3, and was ok, then I tested raceroom and it was very bad! Not knowing simracing was a thing, and wanting more racing but with better control. When I was in Auchan store, I saw a 200€ wheel and a trust master 300, I brought the g920. 6 months later, cockpit 200€ 2 months later triple 27 300€. To be honest I'm very happy, good immersion! The only thing I want is a GT3/f1 wheel, so I can see dashboard. Don't think I need a new wheel/don't have money for it/I'm happy with this one.

As someone who has been into racing with my family for a couple years now and recently got myself a Logitech g920 setup just for some fun and to get a bit of practice on iracing, the Logitech stuff isn’t terrible, once you get used to the gear feeling of the steering and the break pedal it’s still a good tool for training as long as you realize it’s not 100% accurate to real life.
@MrSimplicity288 ай бұрын
Only thing I have to say is that the great thing about the higher end sim racing games is that their setting are very in depth. That being said with the original G29 setup you just need to set the max braking distance within the game by pressing the pedal as far as you can then adjusting accordingly. Obviously you're not gonna put it all back together but it is a thing. Being a used set as well there's a chance the original owner "upgraded" the brake stop in it or possibly removed it. May be something to look into with the settings even with the new setup.

Thank you for this video. I have the logitech g923 setup. I made my own racing rig for PC. I have modded my logitech H shifter with G/K Mods. But this was exactly what I was looking for! I just bought the shifter V2 kit from the company and the handbrake off amazon. I play on PC so the hand brake won't be an issue. I'm still holding out for the truebrake pedal mod. I gotta space out my purchases cause of the wife! lololol. But I did invert my pedals a long time ago and upgraded the standard springs. I have them mounted at an angle to a piece of a shelf lol. Hey it works! I have also made my own custom button boxes. DIY modding is the way to go! If you wouldn't mind I would love to send you a pic of my racing setup. Yeah you always see the pros using all these fancy rigs costing who knows what. But being a working person with a fulltime job, family, etc, I love doing my custom stuff that works for me and my budget. Don't care how it looks, or that I'm using an office chair instead of a racing chair. I'm proud of it! Do what works for you! Plus I subscribed. Thanks bud.

Thank you for this video, I'm an xbox owner and have just started into the world of sim racing, I've bought the G920 set for a few reasons, first I'm not sure if I'm going to love racing and being on console my options are very limited, if I don't like it resale of my G920 will be pretty straight forward (according to Ebay) also it's relatively in expensive to get started, since buying the set I can say it's great fun, I've bought the truebrake mod and that is a truly game changing mod for the standard pedals, I've watched a few other videos where they swap the springs into the other pedals, Brake spring into throttle, throttle into clutch, discard clutch spring, I'm doing that tonight and will see if it feels better than stock. For me to go DD as a starting point would be far to expensive compared to my £250 investment into the hobby so far.

Quick thoughts for GT when you brake ur not letting the brakes bleed off (trailbreaking) also you stab back at the brakes which will cause a lock up. In the beginning of the vid I think you were kinda stabbing the wheel when turning so just smooth it out kinda. If you want to go more into racing you could watch Danny lee he has some good tips and tricks videos on how to break better and more constantly aswell as how to use the pedals to turn the car better.

When you switch to PC - get a direct drive wheelbase and Heusinkveld Sprints and make your setup more solid (either by purchasing or making an aluminium profile rig) or modifying your existing rig. You will want a proper racing seat and higher positioning of your wheel. The racing seat is underappreciated as it will help you be more consistent on the brake because you will feel the brake force through your leg and into your back which will push against the seat and you will be able to feel the exact amount of braking force you are using. As your chair has a flexible back you lose this

Personal opinion.. after the next leap of quality.. it really won't be any need to upgrade beyond that for the hobby sim racer... lastly.. the trigger word... immersion.. if you move your screen up closer to pretty much the back of your wheelbase and center it to your eyes... it will really help push the all mighty immersion at no additional cost . Best of luck and looking forward to a future video of you trying out new kit. Good job.
