This picture is so beautiful! I love the hair. Old school style manga screentones is such a mood!!!

Yeah, after looking this up, I think I'll go back to such style of drawing, but it takes time and after a while hurts my hand.

great tutorial and it looks so good! I know everyone's about color these days with webtoons and all... but there's something just special about screentones and black and white shading. Sometimes color can even be distracting and black and white just makes for better emphasis.

Nice video, very to the point, while conveying all of the relevant details! Would be nice to see how to replicate all of the screentones you see in Manga. Like sometimes they're line form instead of dot form, and those lines can be in different orientations. Also, proper screentone gradients would be nice. As the goal is to have a proper black & white image, so you can't use layer opacity to achieve that, as you'd be creating a greyscale transition.

once you set the image to BW halftone/ dither, techincially its prober black and white, no gray shading. Good idea of different kinds of tones to make. I didn't think of that since its so automatic to me.
@bujin5455 Жыл бұрын
@@cetriyasArtnComicsChannel I think it's an important topic, because I like the idea of being able to create artwork which would fit within a particular existing work. Which means you have to manage to replicate the tones that are being used.

10:16 How did you do that. I followed step by step, but it just deselected the lasso tool. Nothing popped up. Also, the white brush makes the screentone appear, and only eraser gave my white highlights? How did you make them get lighter or darker?
@cetriyasArtnComicsChannel Жыл бұрын
In the masking you can use white or black to paint in the tone. I'm just using hot keys so you don't see me select anything. Just go a head and use the brush or eraser tool.

What did you do at 9:40 to change the masked layer from white to black? Which key or shortcut did you press?
@cetriyasArtnComicsChannel10 ай бұрын
I just invert image or use fill bucket tool to fill in with black or white. you can also do so with the brush tool.

@@fanary5454 you use the fill bucket tool, I just used a keyboard short cut, but that's the tool. or you can use the brush, or even the eraser. Thats the beauty for the masking layer, you can even paint in shades of grey. What it does is control transparency so you don't end up erasing your tones.
