Easy Method - Legendary Bout: Aerith vs The Magi (Required for 7 Star Hotel Trophy)

This one was very fun to make, Aerith is an actual powerhouse when you use swiftcast materia. Hope this has been helpful guys the red XII and cait sith videos should be out tomorrow and hopefully my run of the super super hard vr missions. I feel square enix needs to give you a halfway point for these, going back to the start everytime feels like such a waste of time.

First of all sub and loked the vid. Looking at the enemies I thing the elemental might pair better with Lighthing to absorb the last enemy and yingyang and have that Ice hitting mega strong...but its an amazing vid. Ty for the help

I just finished this and was curious on the builds/strats others have used, and while I think mine was a bit more optimized your mechanics are incredible. I used atb gain and chocobo king to instantly get a magic ward off and be able to shoot a level three spell. I had mp and hp gain on ice, quick cast on fire/ice, and probably unnecessarily had ward on poison/stone For the first fight targeting the left robot with firaga insta kills all 4 enemies. For the second, once in melee form, a close magic ward firaga staggers him giving me the chance to build atb to shoot another firaga/fira For the third enemy I back up a bit to drop the ward and make them take more time to crawl to me. I then shoot off level 3 Ice which is close enough to pressure both without magnify on spawn. Aerith can easily stagger both with basic attacks and I can launch firas to quickly take them down. Magnify might be more optimal over the ward materia I had though For the fourth enemy dispel makes the fight so much faster, but I can see the hesitance to waste a slot on it. For the last one electric armor helps a ton. My blocks aren’t nearly as good as yours so hp regen on ice was super helpful as well. Other than that just shot off those ice spells like you did Anyway, really cool video. I can’t say enough how good your perfect blocks were haha. That’s definitely a weak area for me, especially on aerith

Also you could put genji gloves and put staggered atb to build transcendance fast

You can use Dispel to get rid of reflect immediately. Subversion materia. Nice guide though!

Thanks for the tips!!! If you accept an advice, put elemental + lightining materia makes the round 5 a lot more easy, since you absorbs all long range moves. Yan Yang uses Thunder magic a lot to

When you equip two (or more) of the same Magic Materia for a single character, the benefits for when you cast the magic are consolidated as one? For instance, the Ice Materia with Swiftcast, Magnify, and Elemental do NOT cancel each other out? That's something I haven't even realized.

Yup you get the benefits of all of them which is amazing and that's why I've always loved the materia system. You can make some crazy stuff

for magnify you should turn it off with L1 when you are casting vs a single enemy so it does more damage btw. i notice you left it for the other enemies. at least it looks like it. maybe im not seeing right.

Nice work, i felt like they have to nerf by making the Firaga/Blizzardaga type spells for 2 ATB instead of 1 ATB like in Remake.

Yeah they defo had to nerf them somehow as it was how everyone got through the tougher fights in remake lol. I want my 1 bar Blizzaga back though 😭

I kept having trouble at Round 5 but I modified the Build to this and I can beat it 100% now. Just for Yin / Yan, use Blizga instead and he has done self explode for me Weapons / Armors / Accessory same as @Solestro Materia slots were (sorry, playing in another language but hopefully will suffice): Weapon: Ice+Swift Cast, Ice+AOE, Chakra, Magic Up Armor: Light&Wing+Elementa, Ice+MP Absorb, Time, ATB Boost, Guard, First Strike Basically MP Absorb instead of MP Up, technically becomes Infinite MP, since Blizga works on YinYan explosion, removed that, Lightning Elemental makes Round 5 a lot less thinking, just need to dodge the physicals basically

I do agree some of the challenge battles are way over tuned. I finally just had to turn on easy difficulty on one because the stupid fish and the land worm wouldnt stay out from underground and would only spam red attacks swallowing my whole team. Stupid annoying encounter

Oh defo, they need to tweak them for the next game or add a checkpoint to some of them as they are waaaaay too long. Just wait till you fight the end ones they are brutal.

For the two worms, you can avoid their swallow attacks by switching to another character once the worm has begun its attack. The AI will always avoid the swallow attack, but I think it’s impossible to dodge the attack yourself at least from the bigger worm.

Does collecting all manuscripts on hard make your stats stronger or?

Not really no. I beat hard mode and all the VR missions without having all the other manuscripts. I did all the VR missions before even starting hard mode so I didn't even have the ones from the main story missions. You can get a lot more from side missions on hard as well.

Yeah only physical damage and it barely does that. I didn't bother with that build as I can parry most but yeah as a tip it's better to have lightning elemental on armour 😁

nah you are not alone with it: many people in the foren think a lot of those fights are overtuned or unbalanced. compared to the first game, the endgame here is more plenty but it also feels more rushed/bad play tested and/or unrefined

Is Yin/Yang the primary reason you run the Gotterdamerung? I'd much prefer to run the Genji Gloves on her and just laugh as she decimates things :)

It's more cause I didn't give her a healing ability lol. But if you are good with parries you can remove it and put some other accessory on that buffs her even more. Yeah she could do way more damage with Genji on lol.

Haha I love how it always changes it to partying on a phone lol. It just takes a bit of practice having that materia on also helps if you aren't good with the timing. But yeah just fight a lot of things and see how their attacks work. Thank you though that's a nice complement 😁

That's a good question never tried it, but with this build you can survive it anyway. If you try it let me know. Totally forgot about that ward lol.

That's actually a pretty good idea. I would say keep magic up on but since you replenish mp you could take that off and maybe swap something else out.

Man, quez is super aggressive, and almost never uses fullmen. He just lanches and attacks me, and uses thunder storm things. I'm putting it down for now, this game is really getting under my skin

@Solestro yeah I've been on brutal 6 for a while, that's why I decided to mess with the legendary fights. Thanks to you I got barret down super easy. And your tip for the final fight in clouds bout really saved my skin. Once I got past white terror I won first shot. Though with white terror I just used punisher mode, because I keep forgetting its a thing. Thanks for all the tips! Looking forward to red, tuffie and cait if you do them all.

I have noticed that the in game difficulty also affects the battle simulators. Even ones that say they level up with your character in the battle simulator, they are easy on easy mode.
